Hey.

I'm sure you've heard the rumours goin' around by now, especially with the new guys in town. That name thing's someone's ticket to the sweet life in Heaven or Hell, right? ...Huh. However that works.

A-anyway! Someone out there's gotta have heard something interestin', and I've got a coupla things myself. Just some things I heard workin' at the bar.
Does anyone know a Peregrine called Annabel? Heard somethin' about her being involved in smuggling this thing down here in the first place. And it probably ain't gonna surprise folks who know about the black market shit here that there's a chance that it went to the Heretic, too...

But anyway, that's just the stuff I've got. Anyone heard about anything else going down? If ya have, let us know, right? Someone's gotta be in a better place than I am t' go looking into this stuff and talking to people...

...and workin' out if there's anything we can do.

Damn. Remembered another name, too. Donna: angel who hangs around the markets, I think. Dunno if that helps anyone...

I've been talking to people, but I haven't gotten much more than that, to be honest. There was someone I spoke to who seemed to also be trying to get the Name out of town, but, other than being extremely... odd, I did not get much other than the figure expressed the possibility of there being more than one Piece in play.

I am extremely doubtful of that, however perhaps as a warning to everyone, keep aware of the possibility.

Unfortunately, even in spite of some of my efforts, I seem to be utterly useless in this Jaunt.

Don't start sayin' that. Ya got us the first bits of information anyway. No-one's gonna have all the answers, right?

But. Damn. More folks interested in the thing? ... Can't say I'm surprised. And another... ugh - as if one of 'em wasn't bad enough.

I'm not convinced that there is more than one. The figure was referring to the fact that two mysterious packages appeared at the same time, but one of them did not hold anything interesting. To be fair, I am not certain the other did either, and if it did, it has passed on by now, but I have no confirmation of that.

Well... it's somethin', at least. Whoever this "figure" is at least gave us that.

I... saw Annabel at Yomi too, talking to Naoki. But I've seen her talking to Daneel, too.

[ his partner's name is pronounced a little differently, Dan-ee-el. ]

He's a ferryman, here. I haven't heard exactly what they've talked about but... they seem somewhat close.

Huh, yeah? At least that's someone who could know somethin', then... Thanks, man.

Yeah, I'm... I've gotten pretty close with him too, so I can maybe--

[ look they've always had interesting pillow talk okay. ]

Has anybody gotten anything on Chibi Ban-Heretic Dami-whatever his name is? The guy who had the gallery with Leonardo's art, he had some very tight security.

No kiddin'. [He could feel his own powers going quiet the second he set foot in there - someone's good.]

But that's cool. I think I heard a coupla other names bein' thrown around: I'm trying to remember them, too, but they ain't coming to mind yet.

The Host seems to have spooked folks into laying low. I wonder if we should... somehow... someonw go talk to them?

Might be worth tryin'. They seem t' be friendly enough to anyone who ain't running around with a pair of horns on 'em.

Huh. Well, I hope someone who's gotten anything from them pipes up, I'm... still wary of the whole flaming swords thingy.

[ She's spoken to Annabel, at least - she's even helped out the other. But Chizuru isn't sure what to think of the deal with the name at all.. even if it is the reason they're here, since it seems to be such a Big Deal, what would they be supposed to do about it to begin with?

I ...ain't sure. We could be missin' something big for all I know. But it's gettin' everyone around the place excited, so it's probably worth knowin' what's going on with it...

If it's something that's only just been smuggled here, then it'd make sense, right..? Since we just arrived as well.

[ Although she goes quiet for a moment too as she's turning it over into her head. ]

Although that doesn't explain what we should do about it at all..

I think it came in a coupla weeks ago, right. So it figures.

But yeah. I've got no more idea on what we're meant t' do about it than anyone else. Find it, give it t' someone, throw it in the river...
...whole damn thing's a pain in the ass.

.. Eh.. [ The noise escapes her instinctively, even if it's mentally -- like she's near-stunned in surprise for a moment before her thoughts continue, a little more in a frenzy. ]

I-I don't think that it would be a good idea to throw something so powerful into a river..!

Tch, I don't really either. Ain't got any good ideas, though. Know one guy who'd try and keep it safe, but there's no way of knowin' if that's really what needs doin'...

[ She ponders it for a moment, lightly biting her lower lip. ]

Maybe that's for the better, actually.. I mean, until we know for sure what we need to do here, wouldn't it be easier if we had it and could decide whether we should protect it or destroy it..? Or something else entirely.

[ The objectives have been weird enough at times, after all. ]

As long as we don't have it, we have no idea what's going to happen. Then we won't be able to influence anything..

Heh. [A little grimly for now-] At least we can't make things any worse.

Guess we've just gotta keep lookin' and doing what we can for now.

[ Don't say that too quickly, Kanji. You never know just how things can get worse until they do, after all, even Chizuru knows that.. ]

Yes..! I wasn't able to do much during the last Jaunt, so I really want to give it my all this time.. if we can't figure out what it is that we're supposed to do, then we can't complete the Jaunt either, after all.

Damn right. I ain't givin' up until the Trumps go 'screw this' and drag us outta here. There's gotta be a way forward somewhere...

[ It's a good thing that Chizuru already got used to cursing because she married the biggest pottymouth around.. so it isn't too much for her delicate sensibilities now. ]

You're so determined.. [ So instead she sees the more positive side of Kanji's attitude, and it really does sound like she genuinely admires it. ] That's amazing..! I'm sure that if everyone thinks that way, we'll all be alright.

[Good job, too. 'Damn' is mild where he's concerned. Though at least right now he hasn't slid into Grid cursing.

He chuckles slightly at the compliment, though.]

That's right.. as long as it's not fully over yet, then there's still hope. Situations can still be turned around.

[ The Shinsengumi have shown her as much. Even in tight spots they never gave up, they kept fighting for what they believed in - and they did sometimes beat the odds because of it, almost miraculously so. ]

After all, there's been some Jaunts that seemed really hopeless, yet we still got through mostly okay in the end.

[He'd totally agree with that. Never give up. There's always a chance.]

Wasn't there for 'em, but I heard... so that's something, anyway.

Then let's make sure to keep up the streak of good luck! I wouldn't want you to have to see a Jaunt like that.

[ Maybe a little too optimistic there, Chizuru.. but being optimistic is sort of her thing, anyway. ]
