I had one as well.

It featured clouded darkness, with sounds of thunder coming from opposite directions. The thunder got progressively louder and closer, until I was ringed in a circle by flashes that looked more like flame than lightning.

And I'm going to echo that yours sounds like Thalassia's Empress is involved again.

Here's hopin' I'm wrong, but that scene sounds more'n a little like pretty damn big guns goin' at it.

[Kinji is very used to pretty damn big guns. Mechas are like that.]
