You all may remember him as That Thalassian Spy. That he's on the Network now, before the Jaunt's end, should make it pretty obvious what happened to him.]

[That's not to say it's good or ideal, but she hasn't destroyed it yet. Very much a step up from Kibaoni Gengetsu.]

There is no End Shuriken here to repair the damage she's already done and what she'll continue to do, Kinji. The only way to protect them is to remove her.

There won't ever be a right time for it. If we don't act now, there may never be another opportunity. Lian's codes are still valid; we can't wait for them to expire if we want any chance of reaching her.

It was a fluke. Lian's mission was a long-term plant, and he couldn't have updated regularly. He knew yours were old, but assumed you were on a similar assignment.

If the Captain's mission fails, and Lian fails to check in, he may well be assumed dead and his codes and position voided. We only have until the end of this Jaunt to be certain of their validity.

And if we fail? What do you think she will do in response to an attempt on her life in that case? The brunt of that won't fall on us.

There's never going to be an attempt that has no chance of failure, no matter who executes it or when. We have the advantage of abilities she cannot predict; our chances of success aren't slim.

[Compared to a rebel group, with predictable skills and little to no training.]

We do not have enough people available at present to deal with her and her troops and whatever available monsters she has at her disposal. I don't know that many of us even have mermaid forms available to them right now, and that lack would put them at a severe disadvantage.

[She hesitates for a moment, because she suspects telling him about this skill is potentially a very bad idea, but...]

It is possible to revisit worlds outside of a Jaunt. We would be at fuller strength then, and have enough time to make a proper plan. We don't have that right now, especially with the Xiangfan Woniu crew still planning to damage the Paramoese fleet and start a war.

Dude, some of us can go back to Jaunt worlds in small groups now. We'll come back during a Liminal Space period, after we have time to plan. Some of the people who are Infiltrating might want to take her down too. Are you going to take away their chance to help?

There will always be someone Infiltrating who would have wanted to help. If we always waited for them, we'd never progress.

[Yakumo for one would not have complained if he'd woken up to the news that the Empress had been killed while Lian was spying around. Justice and protecting people is more important than revenge.]

Have you done it before? Returning to a world outside of the Arcana's game.

Yes. Three times? I theorized it was possible a year ago, then Sabetha made it actually happen last spring. I was part of her team for testing it out. We made our first test trip to Belljar between the return to Purgatory and Albion, did another trip to Sarmatia between Albion and the Beastfolk, and then I made my own private little trip to California between Beastfolk and this one to make sure I could do it on my own.

[Only bringing boyfriends along counts as private, right?]

So yeah. Can and have. I haven't figure out how to do it to worlds we haven't been on a Jaunt to yet, but that's also theoretically possible. And I can teach other people how to do it too.
