Oddly, she also has horns. Specifically, those of an antelope.]

I'm not sure how many people have wandered past that lane of statues near the market place? But you're gonna find a few familiar faces there. Me, Riddick, I think maybe Thace and someone else all got immortalized as statues. [She doesn't sound terribly pleased about the fact.] I'm not sure what for yet, but I'm open to suggestions.

Ah... I wondered why you had horns. I think, then, that perhaps the fourth is Altair. Though I'm not entirely sure why. What happened?

Hell if I know, I don't remember yet. I gotta start looking into what they're supposed to mean.

I'm not sure I recognise the name Altair, either. Is he one of the old guard?

I believe so. Often wore white robes with pointed hood. [2 second pause] He is infiltrating now.

Welp. [She blows a raspberry.] Can't go asking him if he remembers. Still, maybe he might know what they mean now.

True. We are friends; I'll find him. Thace is infiltrating too. Your horns are biological?

Oh stars, no. I saw the statue had 'em and wanted to see how they looked. [She shifts her arms to strike a pose.] I don't think it's too bad, huh?

Not at all! They suit you. I just don't see any others.

The horns aren't a natural thing for me. But the statue has 'em, so I couldn't resist trying them on, seeing if it helped spark anything.

It didn't, to be honest, but I got a laugh so I'm still good.

They look like fun! I wonder why the others do not have any themselves. They're all different.

Yes, a flightless one I think. I wonder if there are any left. So far it's just poisonous things.

I don't think that'd be necessary - even if it is me, it's not a direct likeness the way the other three are. It's probably just a really weird coincidence.

They're called The Pillars of the Martyrs, or occasionally 'Portori,' which translates in local language to 'those who carry,' or 'those who open doors.' They date to just after Fallen-Heart was taken by the rebels. They're allegorical figures: In the early Age of Shadow, it was said that the last living creatures would be a human, a lion, an ox, and a hawk, but at this point people don't remember what lions, oxen, or hawks actually are anymore except in a very general sense, which is why they're depicted as a burncat, an addax, and an ostrich.

For what it's worth, the lore behind them only seems to be known in Fallen Wrath, Fallen Heaven, and Moonfall.

Huh. So I guess whatever rebellion we started must've only affected those places.

Well, and then the world ended, apparently. [Those are probably related, knowing them.]

Yeesh. I'm a space rock with teleportation and holograph technology, and we still write things down. I'm not so surprised they've lost so much, now.

They got used to relying on psychic information storage, and I suppose written records seemed redundant after that. And then they lost much if not most of their psychically stored data...

At the very least, it seems careless in retrospect to use one type of information storage for everything. Then again, other types of physical records could easily have been destroyed in the multiple apocalypses they've had as well.
