Fun with Infiltrator Redux

With Naoki's help, I believe I have hit upon a way to convert Investigators directly into half-Infiltrators, without the intervening step of being a full Infiltrator.

Both he and I are already half-Infiltrating, but if someone who is otherwise Investigating would want to be a test subject for this, then we might have a chance of them becoming an ally among the people of whichever Spire we end up in. That is to say, as far as we can tell, anyone thus converted would become whoever suited them best within a certain vicinity. And since if they were suited to anyone in Fallenheart, they would have already been Infiltrating...

It merits trying, I think.

... it would depend if that overlay still existed. This would not be creating a new person from whole cloth, you understand. It would be possessing and being awakened inside a person who already exists in that world.

If said overlay is dead, perhaps from being eaten by a monster... they should not become them again.

...I'm tempted to try this. The only thing stopping me is that I'd almost certainly go Katador, but if we end up going to Fallen Wrath anyway, that could be a feature rather than a bug.

So far, the only half-Infiltrating Katador we know we will have for certain is Joscelin as Ios and he is-- mm, not well-regarded in Fallen Wrath, at least to Cabal's knowledge. I believe it had to do with them losing one of their better newly trained Katadors and a very promising Trainee due to him, in some way or another. In any case, he was expelled from their ranks five years back.

So any half-Infiltrating Katador who is not him would be very welcome.

There are... other issues that I'd need to address. But honestly, if all the Katadors care about is 'how good do you fight/how well do you pull your weight' then better there than otherwise.
