It's... worse. He enjoys pain.

The fact that others recoil when they feel that off of him... he enjoys that, too. It hurts him when they reject him... and even that is fuel. Pain, not rage, is in his heart.

In another world - in Terre D'Ange, where I was born - I have met those like him. Some of them can be taught to only seek such pleasures in a disciplined setting. They enjoy hurting others, but they value those they hurt, and can find those who... as senseless as it may seem... take pleasure in being hurt, who consent to it, seek it out.

In some, that sates the hunger.

In others, it feeds it. I can't say whether he is one of those, or if he merely had the misfortune to grow in a world that does not have a name or a safe place for what he is. But being taught to be a berserker and valued solely for the damage he could inflict - if he was not broken before, it broke him.

I would pity him. Perhaps. If I did not pity those he hurts more.
