[some time into the coffeshop liminal] Informed voting

I know the candies represent potential Jaunt worlds, but has anyone been able to identify which worlds they are? I know the blue ones symbolize the Grid and the lavender ones Questing Country, but I'm still unclear on the other two.

While we're on the subject, the voting area looks to be another Jaunt reference; specifically, it looks like the Ground coffeeshop from La Tour Ivoire Academe.

She was a raccoon - like, a regular-sized one - and she was always having to climb to push buttons, so she’d figured they were tall, but...

I don't know what happened to them, though. The guys accidentally broke the door to a mausoleum, so there’d still been people left when they died.

But knowing something in theory isn't the same as seeing the actual evidence.

I wonder what did happen to them.

The ruins were still standing, so it wasn't the kind of war that takes out whole cities. Could be a plague, or some weird weapon that kills people but leaves infrastructure intact. I don't think the animals got smart until after it already happened.

That's another thing I'm wondering about - the animals, and why some species got smart and others apparently didn't.

...Although if all of them got smart, that'd be kind of hellish given the predator/prey divide.

Yeah, that was a big deal. I think Brockengard was one of the only places where herbivores and carnivores lived together. They had a big covenant about not eating each other, which... didn't really bother me at the time but is kind of creepy in retrospect.

Well... good for them for trying, I guess, but... that had to be really stressful in the beginning especially.

Must have been. It still wasn't a perfect peace and they weren't exactly roommates or anything. It worked there because of the proximity to the coast. Tons of fish, so there's meat even if the cows have a bad season.

Yeah, I'd imagine a good food supply is critical in a situation like that. For both groups, really.

I think that's probably why we partied all the time - important reminders that we were all sentient beings who liked each other.

Keep everybody's moods up so they're hopefully not thinking about murder?

That too, the wine made everyone pretty cheerful. But it reminds them of their ideals, too, I guess. They called the dawning season 'love and peace'.

What were the other seasons called?

Oh, it was all sappy bullshit. Sento’s overlay got to pick.

'Cause he was the smartest, I guess. Even if his inventions kind of caused disasters a lot of the time.

I think every season. So they do a big spring festival, and one for summer, autumn and winter.

So they announce a new name at each festival?

Yeah, they called it a Naming Feast.

How do they decide who names a given season? Is it always Sento's overlay, or...?

I think it was whoever is the smartest, and it was just always Cecil there.

Did he ever... change the names up at all?

We had a few Seasons of Great Discovery in there. Aren’t I a genius?

Ah.

There are worse things to be than a sap, but it was still pretty funny.
