backdated to before the jaunt

I need people to teach me stuffs! I yelled at the dumb Trumps in their stupid box 'cause they made the penguins go away and they sent me this in return!

[And she uses sensory livestreaming to send everyone a picture of the diagram that the Arcana gave her, only with everything labeled in Maria's childish scrawl, because maybe not everyone knows what the symbols mean.]

So I gotta know this one. [Her little finger points to the one that says LIMNAL THEEMATICKS] And one of these two. [LIMNAL CONTINJENSEE and SYKICK CONTINJENSEE.] And one of these two. [LIMNAL FILTER and SYKICK UPLODE] And those will make this. [Her finger moves to the sigil that's labeled LIMNAL SUBROOTEEN.] And that will bring back the penguins!

"Liminal Subroutine." Subroutine is a computer programming term. Here's how to spell it:

Subroutine

And that means making a... semi-independent subprocess that can do it's own thing within a Liminal space. Nice.

You may want help from people who can program computers actually programming your Subroutines. Or you may already be good at summoning things and telling them what to do, in which case what the hell do I know cause I'm a generalist monsterslicer?

Nice find. You're going to make a terrifying occultist some day, if that day wasn't a week ago.

Oh you are absolutely not wrong about English. It is the third worst language on Earth to learn, and the fifth worst language in ANY world I've had to learn.

The rankings are from easiest to most frustrating of those five, by the way: English, Japanese, R'leyhan, Mulian, and effing Tibetan.

Also, the ars Goeita! Sick! Hey, if you run into him, tell Valefor I need my old laptop back.

(She may be joking. She might not. Hard to tell!)

Probably my world's Valefor, and not yours.

But who knows! I would not put it past them to be Liminal beings who live between worlds. Like the Arcana but less into interdimensional chain gangs.

Either way, give my regards to Doctor Owl Astronomer, PhD.

...that's a thought. Thorne has some interesting ideas about how everything's connected, but they aren't for the faint of heart. Not that this describes you!

Hey, if you ever want formal training in a high school where you actually learn this stuff, assuming we can Jaunt wherever we want after this... let me try to smuggle you into Occultar. Cash in favors with Headmaster Philip Lovelace, put you in the gifted summoning program.

Assuming that Beato is cool with it.

I'd be perfectly happy with Maria attending a formal school, for the record. A magical one would definitely suit her needs better than any of the mundane ones I've encountered.

I'm also fully on board with Thorne's ideas about Liminal commonality. The fact that I was running a smaller version of this nonsense beforehand indicates there's at least some things in common between my cosmological education and the version of things the Arcana are using here.
