[Is it possibly for a mental voice to sound giddy? Because there's a distinct giddy tinge to By's thoughts, for all that his words come out with his normal, lazy, lightly Russian-accented drawl.]

Byerly Vorrutyer here. We're on Earth, pre-spaceflight, although someone who isn't me will need to get a better read on the actual date and location. Linguistically, it's a hodgepodge. I can hear archaic Russian, a whole host of Asiatic and Romance languages, and something else I can't quite place.

If you can "hear" this, check in. We need to know who we've got to work with.

I dunno... usually when we end up as infiltrators it's a role that's similar to ourselves. Makes me a little worried that there are parts of her I don't know.

[There's a pause as Adachi processes how she looked before and how some of the ladies around him look.]

Do you know her that well, darling? Sometimes there are sides to even our closest companions that we never saw. One of my former lovers turned out to be literally psychotic. I certainly did not see that one coming.

[There's a mental smirk in her tone.]

Well I certainly think I look good. Perhaps you should find me to see. I'm in a cafe, near the airships, darling.

[A snort of dry, amused mental laughter.]

But about the most I can nail down is that one of those ships on the outskirts seems off to me. I'm going to head over that way and see what I can find out.

Good. [ Then she's gone. ... Or so it seems- because a while later, she pops back into his head. ]

I'll be in the slummy slums if ya need anythin', or find a good tavern.

It really is very fantastical, isn't it? [At least she sounds mostly impressed.] It's incredible to look at...

Well, I thought I knew her pretty well.

[Either way, they were going to have A Talk when they got back to Liminal Space. Although he wasn't thinking much about that after that last part.]

...w-well, I'll have to try and get away from her higness-ness then.

Perhaps it is not as bad as you think, darling. I might not truly understand what we are doing yet, but people are quite complex. Perhaps it is just a part of her being amplified.
