[Is it possibly for a mental voice to sound giddy? Because there's a distinct giddy tinge to By's thoughts, for all that his words come out with his normal, lazy, lightly Russian-accented drawl.]

Byerly Vorrutyer here. We're on Earth, pre-spaceflight, although someone who isn't me will need to get a better read on the actual date and location. Linguistically, it's a hodgepodge. I can hear archaic Russian, a whole host of Asiatic and Romance languages, and something else I can't quite place.

If you can "hear" this, check in. We need to know who we've got to work with.

I think the Trumps enjoy screwing with her head. She already has enough problems figuring out what her gender is.

Maybe they're trying to give her options? [It's really reaching and Naoki knows it, but there has to be some kind of reason behind this, right?]

At least you know who you are, Adachi-san. It's better than nothing. As for Naoto... well, I doubt she's running a rebellion this time, but she'll probably need all the help she can get. Unless she's one of the people mentioned in that one advertisement, and I kind of doubt it, she probably won't be in the thick of things.

Yeah, at least there's that. I'm gonna try and keep an eye on her, but I don't know what the hell's going on yet. Who knows how quickly the shit will hit the fan when she's acting like this.

She said something about her parents trying to punt her out of her kingdom or something. On, and she's here because this delegation thing is supposed to be helping her and her fiance bond.

It could be Souji-san. I know Yua called him Narukami in Purgatory.

I can stand seeing Souji looking all weak and meek.

It is also possible she's underestimating him. But at the very least, I don't think you'll find Yua on the other end of that engagement.

I dunno; from the way that she's talking, I'm half expecting seeing him unable to lift a sword.

From what you've said, it sounds like she doesn't even want to be here. That might have some bearing on how she's seeing things.

Well, if we do, we do. That's at least one thing all of us have dealt with before, except possibly Dojima-san. [Seriously, it's kind of uncanny how little Naoto changes across timelines. They all more or less know her.]

In the meantime, I'll try and keep her down to a dull roar. At least try to keep her from being too humiliated.
