[Is it possibly for a mental voice to sound giddy? Because there's a distinct giddy tinge to By's thoughts, for all that his words come out with his normal, lazy, lightly Russian-accented drawl.]
Byerly Vorrutyer here. We're on Earth, pre-spaceflight, although someone who isn't me will need to get a better read on the actual date and location. Linguistically, it's a hodgepodge. I can hear archaic Russian, a whole host of Asiatic and Romance languages, and something else I can't quite place.
If you can "hear" this, check in. We need to know who we've got to work with.

As far as I know, this is about as much preparation as we ever get, considering it's an anomaly that Daneel-san's got something to do in this world and knows who he is. I ended up on the other side of things the last two in a row, but I can't imagine Purgatory or a literal dream world were any easier to get the hang of for everyone investigating.

Aw, c'mon Naoki-kun; don't terrorize the new kid before things even get started.
Hanamura-kun, right? Don't overthink these things at first; just act natural. Most of the random populace just ignore us unless we're doing something really stupid.

I kid, but this is kind of overwhelming. Go a little easier on him.

He didn't exactly make the greatest first impression, and there was a time when I was happy to let that say everything I needed to know about him. He'll never be my favorite person, but I don't hate him outright. It's just... it's not easy, you know? Not to mention his timing could've been better.
Private
[Wait. Waaaaaaaaaait.]
That's 'Hana-chan'?
[Well, shit... he didn't immediately recognize the name because "Hana-chan" was what he was used to hearing. And... well, he doubted Naoki would appreciate hearing his sister turned it into a term of endearment as time went on.]
Well, if it's the same guy I... sorta remember, I'm not really that surprised he's freaked out. Maybe it'll be better if someone sticks by him, helps keep him steady, you know?
Private
Maybe, but I doubt he'd put up with me doing that very well. Seems to think I still hate him. I don't think he's realised my family doesn't give people the time of day if we don't like them. Unless they're buying something, anyway.
Private
Well, maybe he needs to learn that.
And maybe it'll be good for you, too.
Private
You of all people should know I can't force that, Adachi-san. If it happens, it happens. If not, I'll talk to him when the chaos is over. In the meantime, I gave him the best advice I have for this stuff.

[Granted, he'd only told Yua he'd keep an eye on Adachi for her if he didn't have to go out of his way for it, back on the Grid, but that was before they'd established a connection of their own.]
Private
Heh, well. Just remember; Wild Cards aren't the only ones that form bonds, 'ya know?

[There's a long pause, a sound akin to an awkward drunk elephant coming from Adachi after a moment.]
Sooooooooooooo... Hanamura-kun. You're, uh...
no subject
[Sorry for the pause he really isn't that forgetful, he's just not used to using that word as a regular part of his vocabulary.]
I'm...?

[Adachi paused, and if there was a way to convey squirming over the Headnet, he was definitely doing that. He just didn't know how exactly to approach this, so he was just going to come out with it.]
...so you're Saki's 'Hana-chan', right?
no subject
Yeah...I am.
no subject
...heh. It'll be good working with the guy she likes so much.
If you need help, give me a buzz, kid.
no subject
So buzz you if I somehow manage to get arrested. Gotcha.
no subject
And you'll be fine. Just be you.
[...probably bad advice since he doesn't really know the kid, but if Saki had such faith in him, maybe it'd be fine?]
no subject
If you say so. Can't go much worse than anything I guess.
