[ all of Ambrose's shielding energy is devoted to keeping Alcuin (or whatever he is now) out of this broadcast, and he can only hope that it's enough. he wishes he had the ability to convey his anxiety and urgency but the psychic network has it's limitations. ]

Everyone, please listen carefully: there are more Illuminants than just Green. I got a transmission from Alcuin - can't share it, damn, sorry - but he's been brought to what I think is Yellow's Source and... I think we've lost him. He's Yellow again, and whatever else you've heard remember that Yellow is betrayal. If you speak to Alcuin, Isadore, whatever he's calling himself, do not trust him.

But before he...lost contact, Alcuin showed me the others: Green we know as Maria, the little girl. Rose was there too, a-and it looked like Sera. Dark-haired Sera, not elf Sera. And there was Orange too. Leonardo. If you've seen him around looking older, that's him. Orange is action, danger, chaos, breaking rules. They're trying to rebuild the full spectrum, I'm sure of it. And they're halfway there.

They need Red, Blue, and Indigo. I'm sure for Violet they'll come after me like they did Alcuin for Yellow. If you can think of who would fit the others... I have ideas but I'm not certain. If you can think of anyone who is driven by anger, or sorrow, or who seeks a lot of knowledge? They might be targets.

One last thing: unless you absolutely have to do not open any portals to liminal space. The Illuminated can sense that energy and feed on it. They want in, like the King in Yellow did. We can't let them.

Oh, fuck. [It's quiet, but no less heartfelt. There's so much the newer people to this place didn't know beforehand that might have helped, but there's also no point in beating that dead horse right now. Maybe they wouldn't have been able to do anything anyway.

Naoki also refrains from saying anything about Leonardo-sensei's involvement.]

Well, if you want anger, whoever masterminded that upheaval in the Blood Quarter the other week might well be on the list. I don't know about the others.

...Be careful, Ambrose-san. I think we're too deeply entrenched with Maria-chan to really back out now without making her suspicious. She likes me and Kanji both well enough, anyway, and if they're aware of offworlders it's probably better not to tip our hand if we can help it.

I wish there was more we could do.

Too deeply... [ oh gods Kanji had taken up green as his color, of course. Ambrose cringes and buries his face in his hands,silent on the network for a few moments. ]

All right. What you can do is remember she is not Maria-chan, she is Green now. As easily as she can summon a pile of kittens she can set lions off to get what she wants if she's feeling envious. She can choke you with vines if you get in her way, or gift you with posies if you please her. We all need to be careful.

[ another pause. ] And if the worst happens and I turn up wearing a whole bunch of purple: Violet lies. You see what he wants you to see, whether or not it exists. Don't get distracted by the shiny baubles or theatrics, illusion and ambiguity are his favorite parts of his domain.

Hence trying not to tip our hand and piss her off. [What Naoki's not saying is he's not yet convinced the Illuminants are completely terrible news, but he's pretty sure they're not all sunshine and puppies, either. He's been sure of that from Maria-chan talking about how she could - and in fact wanted to - go talk to some skulls.]

If we want to stop them, we should focus on the dragon. if we wrap that up, we might be done here more quickly.

Well thank goodness for that. [ no, sincerely, he's very grateful if that's the case.] Still, that leaves us with... the entire population of the city to worry about. At least it sounds like the locals are also onto it.
