Walkabout: [Shortly after their arrival]

Randolph Lyall here. Anybody else dropped into the noisy arcade? Or were most of us lucky enough to wind up in a hotel room or a lobby? Can we have a check-in?

Also, anybody else stuck with animal ears and a tail, or aged up or down? I've heard about a Jaunt much like this place, a while back, though I wasn't here for it: a school for anime magic, basically. Sparkles and animal ears and flowers coming out of nowhere. All the symptoms I'm seeing seem to be lining up for that world.

I'm still working out what's going on. It seems like some kind of multiple-school event, from the signs and the brochure handily in my pocket. I'm even wearing a badge for one of them, so I suppose I'm some kind of representative. The aging up doesn't go all the way up to adults, and I haven't changed any.

Yes, I'm afraid so. The place with all the loud games and music and laughing students? That would definitely be the Arcade. I'm sorry if that's where you landed. A tad bit overwhelming.

You could say that when I come from the year 850 in a world, where humanity is on the verge of extinction... So, they play some kind of games there and see who gets the best score, or what?

[Music? That kind of technology? LAUGHING? Not really happening back home. And yes, this gloomy brat is always amazing at making cheerful conversations.]

Either way, I guess it was a good place to start looking for Eren and Armin.

[Lots of people means many options for finding them but no, so far no luck with that. Please tell her you've seen them. No one's seen them since they're in spaaaaace!]

That's one thing the Arcade is for, yes. Mostly it's just for having fun. Er, I do hope you at least have the occasional chance to have fun, where you're from....

[Because that sounds kind of horrible. He's spoken with Eren and Armin-- more the former than the latter-- and while he had gotten the impression that they were from a less advanced time, he hadn't realized it was from some kind of apocalypse world. Yikes.]

Well... Jean is from a time, when we get some weeks off of everything ... I'm sure some of us will figure out something like that to do.

[Which is better than fighting for your life all the time? Even if they're still in the middle of insane training for whatever comes next, but you know, that's still a lot better even if it's not what others would call fun. Oh but since everyone's together there for those weeks, they're going to come up with fun things to do too.]

And it seems like they're not here since I haven't found them anywhere.

[Jean is here, but she'll go insane without Eren and Armin around. This was a chance to have fun...]

That appears to happen sometimes-- some of us go on one Jaunt, and some of us go on the other. Very odd, but I suppose given how many of us there are, more efficient, if the Trumps have a set number of goals and a set amount of time to complete them.
