[The tirade continues with more creative swearing and cursing, even slipping into different languages a time or two, for a solid minute more. But eventually Pod runs out of steam, and there's a moment of silence before she addresses the network with more calm.]

So do these Trumps mock everyone with their overlays or am I just that unlucky?

Without rhyme nor reason, I'd wager. What fine personalities our hosts have.

I'm sure there's a pattern to it. They're juggling multiple peoples' hearts here, and likely take what stabs they are able to at them whenever it doesn't interfere with their greater agenda. Most likely, they think of upsetting us as a motivational tool.

[Pod snorts, although she doesn't have the necessary skill to convey that either.]

They know people so well, don't they. Seems to me like it would make us more likely to rebel, or take the first chance of leaving them and their agenda behind.

Who's to say none of them want us to rebel? The Arcana they named themselves after tell a story about a journey - a mental one as well as physical. Several of them, at least, are likely interested in action and determination. It's what I've been assuming of Magician, at least.

Maybe that's the thing. I know nothing about the gods of these other places we're put to visiting or the Trumps themselves.

[There's a little pause as she grumbles out loud to herself and then she's back.]

I don't think I'd like them even if I understood, mind, but maybe it'd make all this more bearable.

I don't pretend to know their motives for sure, but...there is a certain satisfaction in having your opponent learn rather than just telling them, no matter how much they hate you for it.

I can sort of see that. I guess I have to find a way to learn. Does anyone here actually know much about the Trumps? I've heard a little mind-speech chatter, but to be honest, I mostly tune it out. It was so overwhelming at first.

[That, and she wasn't a Dragonlord, so for a while, she didn't think she could talk back. She knows better now.]

I've met two, and I could and have given a bit of conjecture and amateur psychiatry, but above all else they keep their agendas obscured.

Of course. If we knew, I’m sure someone would get it into their heads to stop them. Not that I’m sure that’s a bad thing, but it could get people hurt.
