[Ever heard resignation and embarrassment in your head at the same time? Because you are now.]

Before I say anything else: I am all right. Unharmed. Unhurt. Fine.

However, I have been arrested by a Council Enforcer and a member of the Elite Duskling Corps, although I did not catch her name. I believe I am being held near to the center of the city, and I am to speak to one Councilor Verena.

... I would prefer to abide by their laws, and I've only been arrested on suspicion because my saying that I didn't know what assistive devices were, which was taken to be a lie. However, is this truly the best course? I do not see any reason why they would keep me for too long.

[A pause, then a bit of a chuckle.]

Please make sure my father Zaknafein does not do anything rash this time. I am truly unharmed, Father.

Great. Best case scenario, abuse of authority. Worst case scenario, the people in charge are afraid of something.

Overly cautious, I would assume, works for either case. It just differs where the caution comes from.

The root cause is important in situations like this. Especially with a few dozen people running around who've never had lessons on how to keep their heads down.
