Do all portals stay open once we move to a new place? I was under the impression they disappeared as soon as one was used.

What's this one look like?

Hmm... I suppose you could say the portal is half as tall as a man and hovering a few feet above the floor. I've been staring at it for nearly ten minutes and not a soul has come in or out of it since.

Sounds like a dungeon portal, and those won't let you back out unless you've got someone with you. Better to bring someone who's done this song and dance before with you.

Four's usually the ideal number for this kind of thing, but it's not impossible to do it with less - you just want to be damned sure nobody splits up, in that case.
