Sometime between the party and the jaunt

Um... hello! My name's Connie? Hi.

Wow, this is weird. [ she giggles softly and nervously ]

So, um, I had a question for the people who've been here a little longer than me? Um, see, the last place we went, I sort of ended up coming back with a gryphon egg. Aaaand it may have hatched earlier today.

And I remember how to take care of it, mostly! So that's okay, um, just... well, first, I don't really know how to get him food? But also, um, I was wondering what would happen to him if I end up thinking I'm someone else again? Because if he's stuck here and I can't take care of him, he could die, and I really... really don't want that to happen.

Anyway, thank you very much and I'm sorry for taking up so much of your time!

[The first part sounds like she didn't quite mean to send it so much as she was thinking it while figuring out how to send the rest.]

This is so strange! Like being a Dragonlord, sort of--

Um. Am I doing it right? Anyway, if you can hear me, Kiga always has infiltrated with me, but if I'm myself I think I could check just to make sure he's not here. I might need a little help because I don't have the magic for getting in and out of liminal space, but that's only a little problem.

It is! Only Dragonlords and Truedragons can truly use mindspeech where I am from. Having that magic myself is a little daunting!

Younglings are always adorable, but mark my words, he'll be a right handful soon enough, if he isn't already! But ever so worth it. Kiga and I can look after him when you need a rest, as long as we're ourselves. We've got a fair bit of experience with taking care of younglings.
wolvering: (Awww! Can't take a little tease m'lord?)

Crystal Gems? What kind of magic do they have?

[There's a little pause. Pod is laughing too, even if she hasn't quite figured out the trick of communicating it effectively like this.]

Ah, so you are a squire? Gryphon Knights sound exciting, like a Bard's Tale! I'm a 'prentice Beast Healer, myself, and Kiga is my brother-in-fur. Or familiar, but the first is closer to the way it really is.

If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be worth spending time with at all! I must admit, I’m not entirely sure what to picture. When you say gems, what I think of is the precious stones that nobles put on their jewelry, but just from what they can do, I’m sure they’re much more than that!

Sounds close enough to me, but then I’m no noble. You sound like you’ve got quite a few tutors. Violin and tennis are more things I’m not really familiar with though.

[Pod’s answer is as amused as a thought can be.] That’s what folk call them. They’re not quite like the familiar of a witch or a mage; they’re so much better.

In my opinion, anyway!
