Open (early week 2)
So. Two things, good news and a serious question.
Good news first; Drizzt is out of jail and safely with his father and I. Nobody got injured and it all went pretty well all said and done.
And the serious question:
[Wait for it.]
....does anybody know how to perform a wedding?
Next week. Ish. Or sooner?

And you're expected to invite quite a lot of people.

My family... likely would have tried to stop a wedding if they were alive.

Still, we don't have to follow the local customs if we don't want to. We aren't local, and excuses can be made.
... er, why exactly do you need to get married, anyway? You don't sound as if you are excited and in love, no offense.

[She sighs.]
Because, to get Drizzt out of jail we had to tell the authorities I was his mother and well... now we have to get married to keep up appearances.
I do not dislike Zaknafein, he is a good man and kind. We're protecting his son and that's good enough for me.

You might regret offering, neither of us have any idea of what we're doing apparently and if these are as big an affair as you say it is...
..........I have no idea how we're going to pay for everything. Is this a good time for conterfitting money in liminal you think?

And I might regret it, but I won't retract the offer. I used to run a werewolf pack, and a classroom. I think I can manage helping to organize a wedding. I'm actually quite good with fine clothes and invitations and such.

... It is awfully convoluted, but I am also now free. I cannot argue that it wasn't convincing enough.

[There's a sigh.]
If only I knew why I appear so much younger than my true age!

Also his icons lie and he normally looks about 17 in human years. But comic book ages lmao.
Drow are considered child until they are 100 in age, but I certainly look older than I do now.
[He's grumbling, but gently so. Zak was far too happy that he's still a child for him to be properly mad about being called what he is. ... For now.]
INTERRUPTING SMOL
[Maria, you still act like a kid all the time. Seriously. Maybe you're acting like you're ten now instead of like you're six, but still.]
smol why
But Maria is a child and--crap. He's doing the same thing he'd be afraid of people doing to him.]
... That is even worse than my own... situation. My deepest sympathies.

[She is also adorable so it's hard to be completely upset for long. Besides, she understands. He still can't help but gripe a bit to a sympathetic voice.]
I was not again considered as a child instead of an adult, like I am customarily considered, until this Jaunt, when Father reminded me that in the eyes of our people, and indeed in the eyes of all elves, I am still seen as such. The current youth of my form just makes the distinction easier for others outside of our race to notice.

Your lot is more difficult than mine. At least I will be considered an adult sometime in my second century of life. Tell me, do you wish to grow up?
no subject
Yes. At least as big as Beatrice. She's a thousand years, but her body's nineteen.

[Drizzt has to feel sorry for the girl. Truly.]
