Good news first; Drizzt is out of jail and safely with his father and I. Nobody got injured and it all went pretty well all said and done.

And the serious question:

I have not done so before, but I could find a way to be properly serious and official if you would like.

I am also a writer, so I could write up some sort of ceremony, or I could find the local traditions and use them.

It just kind of... we had to get Drizzt out of jail and be convincing as to why I was involved.

Oh dear. Well. You've gotten yourself into quite an undertaking, if you want to do this in the local style. Weddings here... are rather large affairs. For a long-lived race, celebrations are equally... long. The ceremony takes up a good portion of a day, and festivities continue for most of a week.

And you're expected to invite quite a lot of people.

I'm not sure that there's anyone but the investigators who'd come... which is a pretty good cover story if anyone needs one as to why they're here.

My family... likely would have tried to stop a wedding if they were alive.

[Drizzt still cannot form a coherent response to how off the rails everything has gone. He's utterly speechless. His first Jaunt, and not only did he get himself arrested, but now his Father is getting married to another Traveler in order to complete the cover story. Which. Is just.

He has a feeling his face will find rest in his hands for many days to come. Between embarrassment, exasperation, shock, and just an utter sense of WHY. Maybe some disbelieving laughter, too. But yes there's plenty of embarrassment and ]

[A pause, and then with a sigh, ever so slightly amused at how crazy events have already gone, and the fact that what he says next is just. Understating the truth.]

It isn't that bad, marriages of alliance aren't uncommon and that's what this is really.
