So, two things.

Thing one: I found Raidou, and it turns out his overlay can't talk. Anyone know a form of sign language we can pass on so the poor guy can at least make himself heard? [So to speak.]

Thing two: Who all's got some Grid-fu at their disposal? We might be able to use that to find out something about our creepy nightly serenade, but I don't have any tricks that'd be halpful by themselves.

I can't help with the first thing, but I can offer some Grid-fu.

The most useful one's probably Sift, and the control panel might be helpful at some point, although the range is such that it might be bad news if I can use it. I've also got Interface and that one that lets you redirect any energy you get zapped with, but those won't be as useful for a situation like this.

I don't have any Grid skills per se, but I did get a blessing from the woman whose mind always seems to be on computers. I'm not sure, but I think I can invoke it for an idea on what to do.

Now, normally I'm the kind of person who'd rather die than hit the "Hint" button, but if it's for the Travelers as a whole...

I don't know if we need the Hint button yet, but we might soon. Especially if anyone else goes missing.

If I don't find anything searching myself this week, I'll give it a try. If nothing else, I want to see if it works the way I think it does.

Drow have a sign language used for silent communication, but I do not know if it will translate the same way as speech and thoughts do in this place.

As for the other matter, I cannot help at all.

It might be worth a try, and it'd potentially give him a tool. Mermaids aren't big on written language, which makes sense since most everything would wash away, but makes for an obstacle here.

It is more than worthwhile to attempt, given his situation. Even if it doesn't translate, at least he could communicate with me, or anyone else that learns it. If it does not translate, then I will do my best to simplify the movements for important words. It will still take time to learn, as it is a language, after all. Unless, of course, the speed of learning holds similarly to other skills.

Giving someone a 'voice' when they have none is important work.

I would be glad to learn what signs you do know. If you only know some, then you likely know the most important ones. And I wish to see if they "translate" at any case like speech does.

I've got a bit of a coded sign language I could try throwing in there, too. It's mostly subtle signals for letting your partner in battle know what you're up to, but better than nothing.

I've got a little bit in the way of coded hand signals I'd used back in January, but I don't know how useful that would be here...it wasn't a full language. Just the sort of thing two masked vigilantes would use to quietly signal each other.

Take it you haven't heard much about the Grid jaunt yet, then. There's some good info-gathering skills from that, but I don't have that end of the skillset, so I figured seeing what we do have was a good idea.

As for sonar... it's not a terrible idea? But it may also tip off the Deepsinger that we're onto them, depending.

That's true, but we might still have the chance of surprising them. Maybe have some people volunteer to guard whoever seeks out this being? I'd offer to guard whoever would find this Deepsinger myself, but considering that I'm not able to transform right now...

When you speak of that Song, do you also mean the beast in the Professor's vision?

Probably. I talked to Kanji - well, his overlay anyway - and he agreed that for something to be this loud and not directly on top of us already, it'd have to be either a pretty substantial chorus or one really, really big something. With that vision to work with, I'm leaning 'one really, really big something.'

I can offer Assist, in terms of those skills. My skills as an Oracle may also be of some help, if the Singer has a Will, at least. Even if it doesn't, with time to fill up my dreamcatcher and focus, I might be able to turn up a clue or two.

As for the first... We used hand signs in the Junkyard when radio signal was likely to be intercepted and sound would give away our positions, and the Wolves' Children used hand signs as well. Both are somewhat limited in scope, but if it would be a help to Raidou I would gladly offer what I know to the cause.

If we can get a double Sift, a double Assist backing it up will net us even more info. I'll let you know if we get something going.

Drizzt is working on the sign language thing. Can't hurt to see if things can be combined, but he'd have a better idea.
