I've been trying to do a little digging on this Nevermore character, now that I'm not stuck at the tournament tables. After far too much wrangling with the stupid newspaper archive thing at the library, I have the official story, which would have people believe he died last year in a big fight at his castle. Someone named Amanda and someone named Katie were involved, so those might be good people to try to find for more information. Piyo - that's Kanji's Pogemon buddy - says Nevermore used to be a big name in Pogemon leadership before his first disappearance, but lost that position after some kind of falling-out with the others.

As for his most likely human connection, Malik-san's overlay appears to have gotten involved in the Slammer organisation after that big fight, on the grounds that all these teenagers could use an adult liaison. It also looks like he has a wife or possibly sister named Melissa, who was badly injured in a Pogemon incident just before the big fight went down. I'd bet good money that's our Melissa, but I don't know her well enough to try following up on that front.

In any case... someone might want to make sure Jules-san actually vets the 'responsible adult' before deciding he's the only competent person here. We also really need to figure out how much of this alliance is good intentions and how much is 'I know he means harm and I don't care.'

And if the two of you who faced him have any thoughts on how we're supposed to fight this guy, we're definitely going to need them.

I did ask permission, but you didn't respond, so...I promise I only looked at what you were looking at, though, and didn't go poking around with anything else. It seemed really, really important to what we're doing here, and I'm really, really sorry.

[He sounds a bit gruff, but mostly it's embarrassment. Having someone witness his failings in that fight first-hand is very different to offering the memories out later.]

Next time, if we ain't respondin', maybe don't do that. We both been fightin' these kinds a' monsters fer years now, we know how t'go about breakin' down their mechanics.

I understand completely, and I won't butt in again.

But uh...my experience supporting people fighting these monsters is that it usually goes better if you coordinate with the whole team beforehand. Not saying you had any way to know you'd need help, or judging. I'm just saying you have backup available, even if it's just some girl who can spot weak points.

We'll make sure t'try an' keep our channels open in future, then. We just ain't used t'workin' with folks who ain't our teammates back home, gotta get used t'that part a' all this Travellin' yet. Ain't sure how much good it woulda done on this one, since the portal closed behind us, but I get what yer sayin'.
