Hey everyone, Ambrose here. New folks: welcome to your first Jaunt, it's a much comfier landing than most of us are used to. That said, I'm thinking "too good to be true" and "all that sparkles isn't emeralds" and "no such thing as a free lunch" and all kinds of other don't-take-nice-looking-things-at-face-value idioms.

If you need help blending in please ask. I know there's a few folks from this time in Earth's history, we're gonna need you guys. [ he really wants to ask what a "United Mileage Plus Explorer Card" is, that's one thing in his wallet he hasn't figured out. ] I do know magic isn't a known thing here, so... try and avoid summoning lightning and giant ice dragons and stuff like that, okay?

[ Ambrose well remembers the anxiety his Infiltrated-self felt last jaunt when presented with inconceivable feats of sorcery. speaking of: ]

Ugh, okay, yeah, let's... avoid that. Though it does look like there's a disease in the news which we might need to look into.

It's a yearly thing. At least one epidemic sprouts up on a mass scale annually.

[He sincerely hopes that's all it is at least.]

Still, doesn't hurt to check it out and keep on top of things.

Absolutely, the more we know about what's going on in a world we show up in, the better we are at dealing with whatever we're supposed to deal with. Though... you sound very well-informed already.

I spent all of breakfast googling the news. This place is more or less like my world, but I haven't heard of anything like this new disease they're talking about, so I'm guessing getting vaccine shots is out of the question.

Saving the world from a wacky new disease sounds right up the Trumps'alley. Unless they somehow want us to propagate it, which... is also right up the Trumps'alley.

There you going being well-informed again, or at least well-reaching-logical-conclusion'd. "Jerks" is one of the milder words for them.

Not that anyone remembers. Really, I'm... not even sure where the name comes from. Folks tend to associate them with tarot cards, I bet Remy started that.

Not... really? He's more exasperating than anything, but can be helpful. He's been doing this longer than pretty much everybody.

Mostly the former, he's got this cavalier thing going on. He does look out for folks though, that's kind of a common thread for most of us.

Yeah, that's the upside. It's sort of... we're in this together, it's not our choice, but it still makes strong bonds.
