Hey everyone, Ambrose here. New folks: welcome to your first Jaunt, it's a much comfier landing than most of us are used to. That said, I'm thinking "too good to be true" and "all that sparkles isn't emeralds" and "no such thing as a free lunch" and all kinds of other don't-take-nice-looking-things-at-face-value idioms.

If you need help blending in please ask. I know there's a few folks from this time in Earth's history, we're gonna need you guys. [ he really wants to ask what a "United Mileage Plus Explorer Card" is, that's one thing in his wallet he hasn't figured out. ] I do know magic isn't a known thing here, so... try and avoid summoning lightning and giant ice dragons and stuff like that, okay?

[ Ambrose well remembers the anxiety his Infiltrated-self felt last jaunt when presented with inconceivable feats of sorcery. speaking of: ]

And-- has anybody recognized any Infiltrators yet? Cuz if not that's downright weird.

... I will admit, I would appreciate advice in 'blending in'.

[Some things he's picked up on by observing others (e.g. cross the roads at certain locations where everyone else is, to avoid being killed by those strange, roaring beings...), but most of them are still baffling to him.

The peace is unsettling to him too, even with it being his first Jaunt: he's unused to such luxury and cheer. It's the sort of place that he'd like Deltora to become one day, but right now...]

Many of the things here are rather foreign to me.

It's okay, to be honest a lot of this stuff is sorta weird to me too. But we're all here to help each other so... trust that for now. What should I call you?

Assuming the Infiltrators aren't all newcomers who didn't spend a whole lot of time mingling, no. I haven't seen one yet.

Here's a question for you: does anyone actually remember the transition from Liminal Space?

Everyone I've spoken to so far seems to remember who they are.

That said - going openly armed doesn't look like it'll go over well here, either, so if you can't keep your weapons concealed, better to stash them for now. We'll have plenty of time to cause a panic and get ourselves arrested after we figure out what the fuck is going on.

Good advice there. Avoiding getting arrested is absolutely one of our priorities, along with gathering info. At least we've got a good base of operations but...it's a little too convenient.

Because I remember who I am, but there's a student ID in the room that has my name on it and a...picture of someone who definitely doesn't look like a turtle.

Is that normal?

That's right, but it's more... you're not who your fellow Travelers remember you are, there can be some biographical overlap. You definitely can't use the psychic thingy when infiltrating so you're you.

Cosmetic changes... can happen, to blend in better. Like now I've got a plane ol' scar on my head instead of a zipper and. Uh. Just so I'm sure, you usually look like a turtle?

[ Sorry. Not everyone's quick on the upkeep here, apparently. He just repeats the sentence in his head a few times, but it's like a total tongue twister more than anything else to him. ]

This is all very new to me, I'm afraid, but some of this looks a little familiar from what I remember of the Ivory Tower. I haven't seen anyone yet who appears to be infiltrating, either. Has anyone any notion of why we might be here? If it has to do with the disease outbreak mentioned in the chronicle by the door, I'm not certain what assistance we might be, unless someone might have encountered something similar at home.

Maybe we could see about getting a couple healers to the hospital, maybe one of them could get a better handle on what's going on.

It's all the Otherside to me, my world's still adapting to the combustion engine. I've had a few Jaunts with close to this level of tech so I'm not totally lost but... we need all the help we can get with some folks. Thank you.

There are a number of things here that look familiar, but they seem to be far more advanced than I'm used to. I haven't seen any Infiltrators, but I haven't been able to do much exploring yet, either.

It can be overwhelming when you're just a few steps behind, yeah. Is there any kind of info-gathering you think you'd be good with? Even sorting through newspaper stuff can be a big help.

This seems somewhat familiar, but mostly only from Belljar and Brooklyn.

I haven't seen any infiltrators, either, and it seems like most of us are accounted for. Is it possible the Trumps think this is going to be obvious enough we don't need clues about where to look?

That doesn't feel right to me, but I'm trying to think of what other reasons there could be behind the change, and nothing makes a lot of sense.

Brooklyn, Belljar, and the school're pretty much what I'm going on too.Mostly Belljar. We'll muddle through all this together. And for the lack of Infiltrators... I'm thinking more that it's an all-hands-on-deck situation.
