Hey everyone, Ambrose here. New folks: welcome to your first Jaunt, it's a much comfier landing than most of us are used to. That said, I'm thinking "too good to be true" and "all that sparkles isn't emeralds" and "no such thing as a free lunch" and all kinds of other don't-take-nice-looking-things-at-face-value idioms.

If you need help blending in please ask. I know there's a few folks from this time in Earth's history, we're gonna need you guys. [ he really wants to ask what a "United Mileage Plus Explorer Card" is, that's one thing in his wallet he hasn't figured out. ] I do know magic isn't a known thing here, so... try and avoid summoning lightning and giant ice dragons and stuff like that, okay?

[ Ambrose well remembers the anxiety his Infiltrated-self felt last jaunt when presented with inconceivable feats of sorcery. speaking of: ]

And-- has anybody recognized any Infiltrators yet? Cuz if not that's downright weird.

We had a Jaunt to New York. It was... 1930, though, I'm led to believe not one of its best years. I'm, uh, from the next dimension over, a place called the Outer Zone. But one of my best friends is from Kansas, the year 2007.

I had a couple of weird...other-dimensional experiences, before I got here, but not to your Outer Zone.

[He sounds a little curious, though - because he is! Most people he's talked to either seem to be from earth or from somewhere totally unaware of it, so "not from that dimension but knows of it" is a bit of a change.]

Yeah, it's... apparently obscure on the pandimensional turnpike. [ which is weird, considering the history of slippers from the Otherside. ] So you're already used to this world-hoppy thingy?

Used to might be a little bit of a stretch, but I guess I'm better off than a lot of people.

Yeah, some folks are...well I've had to explain light bulbs more than once. [ and once was to your namesake! ] So being even a little ahead of the curve is helpful. This'll be my sixth Jaunt.

Where's six put you, relatively? Do we have an average?

[Super old-timer, middle of the road, still wet behind the ears? He's got no sense of what's what yet.]

Uh. At this point I think I'm close to average, though when I started out some folks were claiming to have been around twice this long. We're a population frequently in flux.

Do you know what the longest anyone's been around for is?

I'm... not sure. I know either Remy or Joselyn are the most well-Traveled, I think they've both hit twenty Jaunts.
