A couple days in

Okay, so good news - I found Hajime an' Tachibana. Hajime's one a' them Heraclides, which probably means Kenzaki ain't far behind, either. Tachibana's a centaur named Galen, a big black thing - built like a brick outhouse an' grumpy as hell, but seems like he's a doctor, so if'n y'all get injured an' don't want it lookin' too suspicious, try findin' him. [And there's a brief flash of memory to show him off, for those who might not know him.]

The reason I even mention all that is cos Hajime damn well bit me. Tachibana got it patched up, but anyone mind lookin' it over? Ain't particularly feelin' like lettin' that scar.

Oh no...! Bites hurt awful... if you still need it, I can help mend it. I recently learned to heal, and I can clean it up more if it still needs it...! It wouldn't be good if it got infected...

Yeah, yer tellin' me. I ain't sure how much Greek medicine's gonna handle it, frankly, I'd appreciate y'all givin' it a second glance.

[Kinji knows all about animal bites, with a particular emphasis on snakes; less so about humans, but he imagines the principal's the same: don't get bit.]

Si, si~! Come find me again. I'm by the main marketplace- ah, next to that one statue of Aphrodite?

[It takes him a little while to find the statue, since he's not entirely sure which one is Aphrodites, but he'll stumble across it eventually. His himation is slumped almost entirely over his left arm, hiding it completely as he gets to the base of the statue; but having it like that means the rest of his bruises and scrapes are completely raw and obvious. Boy got into a serious fight.

And now he's just casually looking around for his small friend.]

Feli?

You know, caro, it's a good thing you're so tall. You're easy to see~!

[Granted, Feli's red hair pops out quite a bit, too- he's been getting more attention for it, much like in Rome. He pops around the corner of that giant statue and pauses, eyes widening.]

Tesoro...! You're a mess! [He's worried and fussing all over now, quick to go over to him, gently running fingers over the bruises and scrapes.] What happened...?! More than the bite?

[He grimaces a bit at Feli's fussing - he's still tender, after all.]

Only got bit 'cos he started a damn fight with me. He was tryin' t'torment some civilian an' I stepped in. Didn't take it too well.

[He flaps aside the himation to reveal the bandages on his left forearm, stepping closer to try and keep it mostly hidden between their bodies.]

Everythin' else is just scratches, but this one done got me a bit concerned.

[Feliciano hums and gently murmurs to him as he runs a cooling touch over his bruises.]

I'm glad you stopped him, then... ah, but this is all painful... let's find somewhere out of the crowd. I can heal it, but- but maybe out in the open isn't the best idea.

This way~! [He's quick to lead Kinji out of the busy marketplace square and into a quiet little out-of-the-way alley, which is safe from prying eyes.]

Are these all of the wounds, or are there more?

[He'll gladly follow Feli into the more secluded area, and when they get in he immediately starts unwrapping the bandage on his arm.]

Got some road rash under my toga, but it's all the kinda stuff that'll get better on its own. 's'just the one I'm concerned fer.

[He gets down to the oil-soaked compress and pulls the lot off - it stings like all hell, exposed to the air again. Distinct, somewhat deep bite marks are surrounded by mottled bruises on the inside of Kinji's arm, and it's pretty obvious that it's been severely abused even besides the bite itself.]

S-Still, isn't that painful? [He frets and whines softly, ever the worrywart. But once the wounds are open to the air, he hums and looks over it all, wincing slightly at the bite marks.] I'm going to wash it first, so it'll sting for a bit- but bear with me, okay?

[Water elementalism is a terribly useful skill for tending to wounds- conjuring pure water makes it easier to rinse out and clean off the injuries. But once the wound is flushed and cleaned, Feli gently rests his hands over the arm, shuts his eyes, and breathes out slowly...

And a soft blue glow emanates from his hands, enveloping Kinji's arm as the wound mends and heals, the mottled bruises slowly fading as he works. It takes some concentration on Feli's part, but soon enough, the arm at least is good as new.]

T-There...! How's it feel?

Ain't the worst I've ever had by a long shot.

[But he's ready when Feli goes to wash it, and clenches his jaw to keep from making noise when the water gets into it, washing Galen's oils and herbs out and making everything feel extremely fresh and raw.

Then Feli's hands are wrapped around his arm and Kinji hisses quietly at the itching sensation, of skin and muscle knitting back together and bruises fading, until it's finished and a strange tingling is left over the unblemished skin. He lifts his other hand and runs his fingers lightly over the healed area, flexing his left wrist and splaying his fingers to test the skin and tendons beneath; but it all seems good as new, and a smile of relief breaks out on his face.]

That's a hell of a lot better. [And he turns the smile back to his friend.] Thanks, Feli.

[Feli lights up when Kinji seems to feel better, beaming at him.] Prego~! I'm just glad you're all mended up! Injuries are the worst, and in eras like these, infection is really dangerous... so I'd rather the wounds not be open anymore. I'm just glad I can finally do more than just battlefield first-aid...

Is the rest of you okay?

Rest a' me's just scrapes, they'll scab over quick enough. Don't want you goin' an' wastin' all yer energy healin' that sorta thing when I done been through that more times'n I can count.

[Now that he has no use for them, he tucks the used bandages into his hammerspace. He'll deal with those later.]

[Feli laughs a little then, shaking his head and turning a bright-eyed look at him.] Don't worry about me! This power- I don't feel like I have to strain myself to use it. It just takes a bit of focus for me, is all~! I just want to be sure everyone's all in once piece.

Ah, if any of the others are ever wounded, you can send them my way. My magic is getting better, bit by bit...!

I'll make sure t'spread the word. [He grins a little sheepishly.] An' do my best t'make sure I don't gotta send myself yer way again fer this.

Tesoro, I'd rather you come to me if something else happens. [He laughs a little and gently pats the now-healed arm.] After all, I want to help- and if I can heal everyone, then I'll feel better knowing they aren't in pain or at risk of more trouble.

And, knowing you, you're bound to find trouble, so just be safe and don't be afraid to call for me~!

[He puts on a look of mock outrage.] I ain't been doin' nothin' t'find trouble, thank y'all very much! Trouble's been doin' a mighty fine job a' findin' me! 'tween those damn Heraclides an' Yakumo's overlay, I'm gonna be run ragged 'fore the week's out!

J-Just try to be careful...! Ah, it really does sound like you're being a trouble magnet this time... I wonder if the spirits can tell you're fun to play with? [He can't help but laugh, poor Kinji.]

[That gets a more genuinely put-upon sigh.]

Hopefully it starts clearin' up 'fore things get too hairy. I ain't exactly keen on seein' my luck get worse.

Aw, caro... I hope things perk up too. It's no fun when all the chaos seems to chase after you. [He does gently pat Kinji on the arm, giving him a sympathetic look.] At least there's always Liminal to go back and hide in?

Would if'n I could get in there myself. Might need a hand with that later. [A slightly sheepish admission - he came into Syn knowing how to teleport, he'd never needed to learn portals.]

[Feli blinks at him in surprise, before smiling.] Well, if you ever really need it, I can come find you and open one for you. I won't mind at all~ And I can fend for myself just fine in this world, I think.

I'll make sure t'hit y'all up then if I need it. [He doesn't want to have to, but at least he knows he has options open.] Might keep wanderin' fer now, though. Got lots more explorin' t'do yet.

[And he lifts a hand to pat Feli's head affectionately.] Thanks again, Feli. I owe y'all one fer this!

[Feli melts right into that touch, delighted, a tiny purr in his chest at having his head patted.]

Prego~ I don't mind at all! I'll always do my best to help. Just say so and I'll come running~

[And he laughs at that.] The idea's that I don't get in more trouble!

[He removes his hand from Feli's hair, and turns away with a final smile.] See y'all 'round!

[Feli laughs and shakes his head, giving a little wave.]

... I apparently need to keep a better eye on him. Even my infiltration thinks that was stupid and over the top, and that's saying something.

Glad t'hear it ain't just me. Can't imagine Hajime's gonna be too pleased t'remember this either, he's been pretty good about not bitin' me in our last few fights.

When he's himself, he's at least got some sense when it comes to fighting. Some. This Heraclide monster practically lives for it, though.

This is going to make keeping Tower from winning all the harder.

I'm gonna leave mindin' him t'you, I ain't stickin' round fer if he wants a rematch. [If he was so keen to bite, Kinji didn't want to see what else he considered valid for a brawl.]

I'll try an' keep an eye on Tachibana, if y'all can't - he's got some history with Hajime's lot, I ain't about t'ignore that he probably wants t'fight 'em too.

Ah, yes. I ran into him, too. Definitely not pleased to see me, though apparently he doesn't realize I know him-- er, Lanides knows him, that is. I doubt he'll want me checking up with him regularly.
