Gathering those Plot Bunnies [very end of week two]

Alright, so - never thought I'd be sayin' this, but - thanks t'Zed, I think I got a workin' idea 'f what's been happenin' behind the scenes here.

'cos without him, Yakumo wouldn't a' gotten turned back into an Investigator. First thing he done did was find me an' tell me how the Titans're throwin' a coup a' the gods. He ain't got too much info yet - turns out storm spirits ain't got the greatest sense a' focus - but at least one a' them's a Traveller, that English wizard guy.

An' Galen, Tachibana's overlay, said that when he went t'go talk t'em earlier--

"Something has bewitched the gods and dulled them to blindness. For the barest fleeting moment there was intelligence in Apollo's eye, but it dulled like embers in ice, leaving only disinterested arrogance in its wake."

--so they're doin' somethin' directly t'mess with the gods an' make 'em complacent in their own demise.

So here's where it gets tricky. Yakumo thinks he can get me an in with the Titans - the storm spirits seem t'have all taken a likin' t'me, and they're already in on whatever the hell this plan is with the Titans, so unless there's any volunteers, I'll be goin' an sneakin' into that.

An' that means somebody else oughta try goin' back up the mountain t'try an' talk some sense into the gods. An' I reckon y'all might be able t'do that with some kinda skill that can clear their minds. I know there's a Song fer that, I can pass that on if'n someone needs it, but there's gotta be other ways that work better. If teleportin' or climbin's too far, I can make some kites an' Yakumo an' the other storm spirits can fly people up the mountain. It ain't too safe but it's a right sight faster than teleportin' or climbin' on foot.

[He was going to offer advice on the gods having issues, but the mention of 'Titans' throws that all out the window. The tone that comes through isn't like Casper's usual cheery outward emotional state, but cold, angry, and fierce.]

If they're anything like the Titans I know, then sneaking in isn't advised, ninja skills or no ninja skills. Maybe they're not as mindless creatures of destruction as I know them, but they're not to be underestimated, no matter how good you think you are. We need information, yes, but getting anywhere near them is an awful plan.

Giving them any sort of aid is probably going to hand a win over to Tower, and from my understanding most people weren't for that. Unless I'm wrong?

I ain't sneakin' in with 'em 's'much as havin' Yakki escort me through the front door. An' I ain't about t'underestimate 'em, that's why I'm sayin' it's me who oughta go. Yakumo an' I are a flawless combo, he can get me out easy if it all goes t'pot, an' I got a broad enough skillset that I oughta be able t'keep 'em on their toes if it does come down t'a fight.

An' if they got a mortal on hand, maybe that might temper 'em a little. Could keep 'em from just lettin' everything go further south.

No combo is flawless, Kinji. I'm not doubting that you're skilled, I'm just saying they're likely worse than you think. And you think having a mortal on hand is going to temper them? How, exactly?

Y'all ain't seen us in action, Cas. [He's not judging, but he's also not technically bragging. He and Yakumo are flawless.] An' if it don't work, at least I tried. Ain't much more I can do beyond that.

An' if I'm there, maybe I can actually get 'em t'stop fer two seconds and consider what their plans are gonna even do t'mortals.

[Ugh. Okay. He has to pull back a little, even if it's hard. His tone softens, even if it's just a little.]

I know. I know you have to try, I just... worry. Promise me you'll call for help if you need it, though? Even if I can't fight them off, I might be able to cover your escape if it's too much for you. ... Not that I'm saying it will be, but just in case.

Now I appreciate yer concern, but I think y'all mighta misunderstood the point a' me makin' this. This is me callin' out t'people an' lettin' 'em know what's up.

[And frankly it's a damn sight better than how things went last Jaunt with him and overpowered beings.]

But if it comes t'it, I won't be needin' too much in the way a' help gettin' outta the Titans' reach. Yakumo an' I already discussed that, we got a good number 'f outs lined up. I ain't goin' in blind this time.

... Okay. Sorry. I just... they're awful in my world, from what I've heard. So I just...

[He goes silent for a few long moments while he tries to compose himself.]

I'm glad you have an exit strategy. Okay. Um.

[Logic, logic... come on, he can do this.]

I don't know anything about breaking curses or spells on people or gods - I haven't gotten that good at stuff like that other than improvising things, and improvising something this big seems like a bad idea. I can go up the mountain as backup if someone's got a good way to do that, though. I might be able to carry someone too, if the winds aren't too bad.

That's not necessarily true-- that helping them would perforce be handing the win to Tower. These Titans may be absolutely nothing like the ones in your world. We simply don't know, until we know who they are and can meet them and find out what their plan is.

I don't want to give up hope without even having any facts to work with.

... They might not be, but I can't exactly help but be suspicious. Sure, some Titans might be good. And sure, some of the Olympians might be awful. But on the whole they don't mix well, so we'll have to pick one or the other, in all likelihood.

Possibly we're meant to pick the Titans, if the other conversations are bearing out. I'm not sure whether that's the best course. Do you have much experience with both, or just Titans?

The Greek gods... not directly. They've shown up, since my best friend's dad is Hades, but the gods I have the most experience with are my pantheon, the Norse.

I haven't directly met any of the Titans, either - just some of their more minor spawn.
