Well. So. It's Randolph Lyall again-- I'm back, and no longer a maddened werewolf, or, in fact, a Heraclide. I'm very sorry about all that. Very... very sorry.

But I'm not in liminal space. I had to punch through to get to the network, the way I punched through to the other Jaunt a month or two back now, and I'm fairly sure I don't have very long.

I appear to be... underground? The underworld, perhaps? I know some of us were going here, are you still here? I would... really very much like to get out of here, but I can't seem to get a proper portal open to liminal space. And even if I could, I would just have to come back down here when I opened it again, and--

[He cuts himself off, and starts again, a bit more steadily, but even more quickly, trying to impart information.]

--and even if no one can get down here, I did have another vision when I came to. Watch out for shooting stars. Either at dawn or dusk or some other time where the sun and moon aren't making a mess of things, there's going to be shooting stars, and then a very large earthquake. We may want to start thinking about disaster relief, or else finding whatever idiot gods or titans or whomever are going to cause it and stop them before it happens.

... but I really would like out of here, too. Please. If anyone can manage it.

I can get people in. But getting anyone out is on Hades.

I believe getting people in is the easy part. All you have to do is die. But from what I heard, Hades isn't exactly being helpful at the moment, like all the other gods.

I should clarify. I can get people in alive. But it doesn't tend to end well, especially if they're trying to bring the dead with them.

What usually happens? Just out of curiosity.

If they persuade Hades, he'll give very specific conditions. Simple things. But most of the time, the mortals don't follow them and there are always consequences.

I do recall vaguely thinking that people in classic stories and myths were a bit stupid. I'm not technically mortal, so perhaps I'll do a bit better at it than most of them. If I can find anyone to give me the conditions, given Hades is as useless as the rest of them at the moment.

I suspects he picks the conditions he knows will be hardest to follow.

The question then becomes whether what's holding you down there is active of passive, if Hades isn't listening.

At the moment, the only thing holding me is not knowing the way out. I'm looking, but it's a bit hard to find.

If no one is holding you... that would mean no one is holding everything else down there...

That could be a problem. What all else is down here? I've heard Cerebrus isn't really an issue, but are there other things to look out for?

If we're at the end of the Heroic Age as they say... every creature slain in every story is down there.

I'm afraid that only makes me think "a lot". I never really studied mythology much, and Lanides would only have cared if he was the one who put the monster down there. I'll tread carefully, though.

Various gorgons, the hydra, massive eagles, dogs with varying number of heads... it's a huge range. Vanquishing monsters was a big part of the hero mantle.

And... she's basically the opposite of dangerous. And I know it's not the same universe exactly but... if you happen upon Eurydice...

It sounds like Hades might not even be able to do so. But in that case, there might not be anyone who can release the dead.

Does that mean we'd have to force our way out? Because I can see something like that having consequences...

Or it might mean Hades can't hold anyone anymore and you'll be able to just walk out if you know the way.

But either way, there's likely to be fallout once someone is in charge down there again.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't.

I've seen it with Hell, once. The dead leaving and the mess that was getting them back to anywhere when someone was in charge again.
