Okay, so I've been spending a lot of time in Liminal since every time I go out, I get harassed by wind spirits...

...but I think I just lit upon something really awesome while hiding in the Workshop!

Yeah, you gotta get more basic than that. I'm from the land of elves, dwarves, and demons. What's a floppy drive?

"It's...uh...a really old way to store information on little tablet-things, only the storage units were pretty noisy and outdated, so I'm making them make noise instead." Nailed it.

Did you just make them? Don't you have to be pretty advanced in liminal stuff to make things that... complicated?

[She crouches down for a closer look at one. It looks pretty complicated, all right-- more complicated than any machine from her time, anyway, though she's seen worse when Traveling in modern times and beyond.]

[failgoyle]

Well, yeah...but I know this sort of thing inside and out! I took stuff like this apart and put it back together all the time when I was a kid.

[tailforbrains]

Even with the tail and horns and stuff, you come from a time with this kind of machine?

[That's curious. Most of the non-humans seem to come from a time more like hers. If not exactly hers, in the case of the Drow.]

[failgoyle]

Well, yeah.

[There's a long, awkward pause.]

I. Uh, I didn't always have the tail and the horns. That...kind of just happened when I, um, got taken by the True Fae...

[tailforbrains]

Like. Fairies?

[Neeshka looks skeptical, even holds up her hands and makes little flapping motions at her shoulders, like little fairy wings. Because true fae are probably closer to elves, in her world, albeit elf sorcerers or something... the "fae" she's met were more along the Tinkerbell type.]

Not like pixies or little tiny cute pop culture fairies!

Faeries. Like every single fairy tale omnipowerful magic witch or monster or whatever kind of thing you can think of, only worse.

[tailforbrains]

So like. Demons or minor gods or something.

[She's trying to understand, okay. It just isn't part of her particular worldview.]

...that's probably a better comparison, yeah.

[There's a shudder.]

Okay, demons suck. I mean, my great-granddad or somebody was one, and that's been nothing but trouble for me.

I met a few once. They were pretty awful. So if demons kidnapped you, I guess, um, I'm sorry?

[She's not great at sympathy, but comparing them to demons makes it more personal.]

[She doesn't really care all that much, but Jules is fun to needle at a bit.]

I don't know, I just did!
