Okay, maybe not.

Intros first, I guess... Hi, I'm Robin! Currently sort of younger big brother to Redwing if you've met him. First 'Jaunt' so I'm a newbie at all of this.

Anyway, I know a lot of people have been freaking out that this is all... quiet? Not dangerous so far? I'm not sure how it usually goes but since you're not feeling the aster and if yoga or whatever isn't going to cut it, I rented a Wii from the hotel and set it up in my room - sorry roomies - if anyone wants to come and just chill for a bit. Maybe we'll have a dance-off or something!

Sooooort of... I mean, they have housekeeping, bellhops and general staff that I guess might fall into the category of servants but they're their jobs, and I'd like to think they have more rights than what a historical 'servant' would've had.

Even though I have to say it stings a little to be thought of as "historical" [ he's still a vibrant teenager, okay, don't write him off as some sort of fossil with a word like that!! ] I suppose those must be the sort of servants I am more familiar with, indeed.

Would you care to enlighten me on some of the differences? I would not wish to stand out straight away and bring our mission into danger, after all.

To start, you're expected to treat the politely, not like they're lower than you in status... Uh, so you should generally tip the people you call to your room especially, like the people who bring your bags or meals... No thrashing them either, because that'll land you fast in jail... just use our common sense, pretty much.

Why would I trash them? It's not as if I am some sort of barbarian!

[ Yes, Inigo, that's true.. you're way too shy for that sort of thing. ]

Although I do not quite understand why I am supposed to be giving them tips.. tips about what, exactly? Their appearance? [ Not.. those kind of tips.. ]

Tips... are money. Not a whole lot of money but just a bit to show you're thankful for their service. Sort of.

So you are supposed to give people more money than they are asking for? What a curious system in these kinds of worlds. [ More like you're old-fashioned, Inigo.. sixteen year old grandpa. ]

Why would they not just include it in their prices?

Some places do, but it's a bit more personal if you do it yourself, you know?

... Also some places don't really give their employees much so they kind of depend on those tips when they can.

[ .. oh.. he seems to realise something, and his (mental) tone is a little more tight when he continues. ]

You are not suggesting they still are using the practice of slavery here, are they?! [ Not.. quite... but that's the first thing that comes to Inigo's mind when he hears the people working here aren't given much. ]

What? No- jeez, uh, no. Slavery is illegal. Everyone gets paid, unless they're doing volunteer work.

They get paid, yet also need to get extra pay from others on top of it to have enough to live.. I am most likely biased, but I have to say this strange world is rather confusing. [ medieval grandpa speaking here. even if he's 16. ]

It is, but once you've been around for a while it gets a bit less confusing. It's not fair, but it's easy enough to understand the system.

It might be handy if someone could provide.. well, not lessons per se, but something quite along those lines next time we have a break. I am fairly sure that I am not the only one who is not used to these sort of worlds.

[ Judging by people's clothing, anyway. ]

And it would benefit the group as a whole if we understood these customs enough to not stand out too much during our investigations.

Do you think we'll be here long enough for that to be necessary?

Even if we may not be here that long, we may encounter other worlds like it. I have had similar problems in a place we were before, especially when it came down to these.. er.. I believe they were called "computers"?

[ The lesson learned was don't set a bunch of medieval people onto computers. Basically. ]

Oh, yeah I can see how that might be a problem. Uh... I guess I can give some more tips or whatever if you really need them. Just hit me up when you need me, okay?

At least that much should not be too difficult with this way of communicating telepathically. Just.. tell me if ever is an awkward time. I'd hate to interrupt you while bathing or anything of the sort.

[ More like Inigo would die of a combination of shyness and embarrassment, but he doesn't have to say that out loud, right.. ]

... If it's just a psychic conversation it wouldn't matter, right?

Are you saying you would have psychic conversations with people while you are naked?! [ You haven't seen just how much of a shy prude Inigo really is, honestly.. he's blushing at the very idea, let alone actually doing it. ]

... I'm gonna hazard a guess and say you're not a fan of locker-room showers.

[ There's a heavy, almost tense silence.. even across thoughts.. ]

What are those..? [ HE'S NOT SURE IF HE WANTS TO KNOW.. hence his hesitant tone.. ]

Communal changing rooms, usually attached to bathrooms.

T.. they have those in other worlds?! [ BLESS NAGA FOR HAVING THEIR OWN TENTS.. or at least the ability to find relatively private spots to change... ]

And then people, they.. er.. [ He can't even say it. He's totally holding a hand over his face here with how brightly his cheeks are burning red, thank god no one can see him. ] They.. change in front of each other..?

... They shower next to each other too, you know. Like, all naked, washing themselves and all. [Are you serious? You're serious! He's trying not to laugh but there's still this flicker of amusement because wow.]

[ Oh god. Someone come and just kill Inigo now. This falls firm and square in the category of "thoughts he did not need", thank you very much!! ]

Why would men enjoy seeing each other in such a way?! [ He's mostly using "enjoy" since it's the opposite of.. you know, finding it horrific.. which he does.. ]

It's about convenience and sometimes teambuilding, not about enjoyment- okay, yeah, some guys might get off on that, and even just messing around with turning on the cold water when someone's got shampoo in their eyes can be fun, but my point still stands!
