A few hours into the Jaunt

I've never done this before, but there's a first time for everything.

It's about time to do a check-in to see who are investigating - or at least have an infiltrator persona. My name is Jean Kirstein and... I don't investigate very often.

Apparently, I arrived with an ID that says I'm 21. So I guess age up, or down, is normal in this Jaunt. I also got a surprise guitar and seem to know how to play it...? Anyone else had something like that happen to them?

I won't ask if anyone has an idea of what we're supposed to do, since it's so early on the Jaunt... but it's good to keep your eyes open for any information that seems important.

My ID says I am Drizzt Do'Urden-Thropp. [He is quite pleased by this.] I asked the date, and it seems I am officially 18 as of today. Guenhwyvar is a house cat again and is quite vexed about being so small again.

I do not know what we are meant to do, but I believe I will enjoy the music!

I wonder if I'm the only one who got a complete make over on their name even without infiltrating...

I have good memories of music from January, which is why I'm also looking forward to hearing what this festival has to offer.

That could very well be the case. Was it at least a good one?

Johan Kirk. A fine name if I say so myself.

[Drizzt chuckles after a pause to reflect on what that means.] Yet another has received their mark because of me, it seems. Do I owe you an apology as well?

Because of you? I think I missed that part.

Anyway, it's not a big deal. I can live with being marked by her. In the end, I don't feel like it matters all that much.

[Drizzt waits a bit until he's certain that Entreri has infiltrated to respond.]

It is a long story, but the wedding was one of the results of my being arrested for attracting the suspicions of an overly paranoid enforcer.

Oh. I did wonder afterwards the reason, but I didn't think on it too much. It's not like I'm all aware of relationships around me.

[He could be if he got a favor skill.]

Neither of them shout to the heavens about their marriage or how it came to be, so it is no wonder.

[That would be hilariously awkward.]

... I can really imagine either of them shouting out, but it's amusing to try and imagine at least.

If my father is ever shouting, it likely means you should run.

Now that I can imagine.

My father does not get that angry that often.

That's pretty much the image I've gotten from him. Though he was pretty angry at Lovers, which I definitely can't blame him for...

Yes; I could not blame him, either. At least Elphaba has returned to us.

Someone should tell your familiar that housecats are still unstoppable predators, just ones humans allow indoors.

Congratulations on the acknowledgement of adulthood, although I'm surprised you didn't get a simpler name in America...

I will tell her. I have certainly seen that her hunting prowess has not been diminished by her size.

[A chuckle.] A temporary reprieve and nothing more, I'm afraid. And perhaps the Arcana find people butchering my name amusing. I have already gotten some... interesting, but incredibly wrong, pronunciations. Someone called me Dirt. [It's not close. It's not even close. Did they even try?]

I've resigned myself to answering to the English pronunciation of "Beatrice" all Jaunt. It's actually kind of strange that Japanese speakers get it more correct considering it's a completely unrelated language...

I can only promise that I will continue to pronounce it right. Unfortunately, it seems that you will otherwise be stuck with the wrong name from everyone else that is not an Investigator.

Perhaps we could make it a contest to see who gets their name used correctly the most.

I'm going to lose count, unless I start correcting people, and I don't know that that's worth the effort.

[Drizzt chuckles.]

It seems then that we are forever doomed.

Happy birthday~! Let's throw a party for you, me and Thorne as soon as we get everything we need for that, okay? Awww, but all house cats and kittens are just as adorable as all wild cats!

... Also, that's a really long name. [ but nothing wrong with that, but --- maybe she'll be glad if she can just call him Drizzt. ]
