Uh. Hey, folks. Coupla things ... kinda connected, I dunno.

First, anyone heard anything about this missing band? Symulakrum. Sounds like half of the fuss is them goin' missing last night...

Second ... 'cause of that ... there was an empty spot in the schedule. And someone [not naming any names Maria] signed my ass up for it. ...Dunno how she pulled it off.

But ... yeah, I can sing. Pretty good, if I say so myself. I've got a bunch of tapes 'n some of my music shit in the car, but I came here for a break, right? ... 'Casey' me not 'Kanji' me. That ain't gonna cut it for a big show like this.
...So. This is gonna be a hell of a rush, but anyone up for getting a band together?

Yeah, go on. You know the stuff... man, never thought about putting flute or harp bits into this sorta music...

If I have a moment, perhaps I can learn guitar as well - it cannot be too estranged from bass guitar and mandolin. But there is a precedent for flute, at least, in this era! Go down to one of the music stores and listen to the group Men At Work's song "Down Under" - the flute is a most memorable part of the melody.

Yes, that's the one! [Have a little sensory livestream of a flute rill, Kanji. Sorry, he's excited.] I believe it may have been considered a unique form, but it may prove useful if Casey has written any songs of his own.

That bit, right! Got a few written, didn't bring all the related stuff 'cause I didn't really think I was gonna need them, but... heh. Can take a look. Or a listen.

Would it be all right if we held a group meeting to read music and listen to it and how we might fit it together into a coherent whole? I should love to hear what you have already and what you might be writing now!

Perfect! I will endeavor to locate someone to teach and loan me a guitar in the meantime. And visit the music stores myself so that I can internalize a wider range of musical styles. If I find a good place, I will let you know right away!
