A Warning [Shortly after liminal change]

Hey. So noticed somethin' a little off about the tea-rivers or whatever they are. They're in a particular pattern. Pretty much exactly the same pattern as a little town on Earth we went to that almost got us all eaten by tentacle shit-heads.

Think we might need to prep some eldritch defense and memory restoration and shit, if we're goin' back to fuckin' Harrogate. I got both, in case anybody was wonderin' or wanted someone to hit them up with either one once Jaunt gets goin'.

...I never did learn Eldritch Defense from Maestro Leonardo. Perhaps lessons on that should precede or supersede any of our other magic lessons.

Might be a good idea. There's a handful of us who know this shit, but I'm probably the only one who's got somethin' to practice on. He won't be happy, but he can deal.

Something to practice on? I know we've got a collection of interesting backgrounds here, but I hadn't heard of anyone fitting the sort of description one associates with Harrogate.

I came out of the first Harrogate with... guess you could call it a pet demon. Like six feet of steel cable with a mouth and a bad attitude. We get along, though.

Huh. I wonder if it's anyone I know. I hadn't taken you for a demon summoner.

Don't think it's the same kind of demon, sister. He don't got a name or sentience or anything, he's just some hanger-on from the last nasty we met, more of an interdimensional monster than a spirit.

'Sides, I didn't summon him. He attached himself to me when I was tryin' to escape liminal space one time during Harrogate.

And he's just been, what, hanging out since then? That sounds surprisingly tame for anything that was connected to Harrogate.

I keep a leash on him. He's killed a couple people, but mostly when I wanted him to.

I'm not going to tell a wizard what to do with his bound monster, I'm just surprised is all. It sounds like the sort of thing I would do and then get a lecture about from more savvy Travelers like yourself.

[Wizard is the opposite of what he'd call himself, and he spends a beat being bemused by it. But then he recovers, and sends back,]

Yeah, well, I like to live on the dangerous side. 'Sides, by the time I had the means to get rid of him, we pretty much had things worked out. He don't kill anyone I don't want him to, I keep him fed.

That's pretty much how it goes. Well, I'll take that as a resource we have that I didn't know about before, then. Sounds at least as useful as my Goats.
