A Warning [Shortly after liminal change]

Hey. So noticed somethin' a little off about the tea-rivers or whatever they are. They're in a particular pattern. Pretty much exactly the same pattern as a little town on Earth we went to that almost got us all eaten by tentacle shit-heads.

Think we might need to prep some eldritch defense and memory restoration and shit, if we're goin' back to fuckin' Harrogate. I got both, in case anybody was wonderin' or wanted someone to hit them up with either one once Jaunt gets goin'.

[Phillip doesn't really want to leave his room, but... fine. He'll make it to the forge, largely through shadow travel and teleportation, slipping inside.]

[Sometimes we all have to do things we don't want to, and in this case, it's healthier for the kid to get out and be somewhere else in person, as far as Riddick's concerned. At least he's not hammering on anything, he's just leaning back on his anvil waiting.]

[He's not going to ask if Phillip's okay, since he's obviously not. He is going to incline his head at the bench over by the table, though, as an invitation to sit and talk.]

[Phillip moves to sit, tension and anxiety in pretty much every part of his body. He is desperately hoping they're wrong, but... he doubts they are. This is pretty straightforward, for the Arcana.]

...I don't want it to happen again. [but as usual, he doesn't appear to have much of a choice.]

I know, kid. And it might not, we don't always come back as who we were last time. Could be this is before or after our trip last time, too.

What d'you want me to do, if it does?

[He'll do his best to kill him, or he can just drop him out of the infiltration-- but that means being stuck in the shadow-boy's body, which may not be pleasant.]

Kill it, if you can. [That is by far the best option, but not even Phillip really knows if he could be killed.] If you can't... at least pull me out of it. I might be able to control it better.

[He also might not, which is by far the scarier option.]

If you've got any suggestions for how to kill it, I'm all ears. I'll give it a shot, but all else fails, I can just plan to bring you back. When you're sharing the body, it's not that bad, I've done it once.

[With a hot-headed space-kid, rather than an eldritch being, but still.]

Light hurts it a lot, I remember that. And the defense signs and things probably work against it? There... was some other monster that managed to do damage to it once, but I don't know exactly how.

[And unfortunately that's about all he's got.]

Might be better to focus on bringing you back than killing you. Havin' somethin' like that on our side could be useful, if there's more of those fuckers around. You think you could handle that?

[He'll go with what Phillip needs, but there's practicality to everything he does, so.]

[He goes quiet for a second. He can see the practicality of it, yeah. He doesn't like it, but he gets it, and Phillip takes in a very shaky breath.]

I can try. [He wishes he could promise more than that, but he really can't.]

If it don't work, we'll do the other thing. But it's probably worth a try.

Alright. [That makes him feel a little bit better. The last thing he wants is to be stuck in that body with it still in his head and able to overpower him.]
