Harrogate / Breathside, backdated to about a day after the sinkhole opened

[The first thing Eren does after Bridging over from the Walkabout is privately contact Armin and Mikasa. The second thing he does, even as he's still on his way to meet up with them, is contact the Network in general so he can start getting a better idea of the situation. Even without being able to hear his voice those that know him can probably tell he's approaching this as something more akin to a battle against the Titans instead of a Jaunt.]

This is Eren Jaeger. I've just come over from the Walkabout. What's the situation here? The Network and Liminal Space went blank over on that side too, but so far that seems to be the only weird thing happening over there. I- Wait, what the-?

[There's a long moment's pause, and when Eren speaks up again he's back to "yelling" for the moment. Yelling bad enough that his telepathic text is actually in capslock. Sorry, Travelers.] DAMMIT, SCARLET! WHEN DID YOU- HOW DID- I TOLD YOU TO STAY PUT BACK THERE, YOU SNEAKY LITTLE- [There's a second, shorter pause as he reigns his temper in again.] Does anybody know how I can convince the locals that a baby dragon isn't suspicious?

Is it possible to convince them that you are a great sorcerer? Or a movie actor? Or they have consumed too many spirits?

I find in general most mortals are ill equipped to handle dragons.

Are Sorcerers common in this world? And a movie actor is someone that makes moving pictures for people to watch on a Tee-Vee, right? I don't think I know enough about "movies" to pull that off.

Hrm.... I have not seen a sorcerer here, but I am uncertain. As for Television, I know that electric faeries dance in a box to make the images appear, but I do not know much more.

Perhaps it would simply be best to say that it is not a dragon, but a very ugly dog? I believe those exist.

Then even if they do exist in this world, they're rare enough here for it to still draw attention. Trying to pass her off as a dog isn't going to work either. She's small enough maybe I could convince people she's just a normal lizard if I hide her wings? But I don't know how weird a bright red lizard would be.

I do not know either. Perhaps if you simply state that you are American? I am told that most people consider them eccentric to the point of ignoring much of what they do.

Would that really work? Before I became a Traveler, I wouldn't have stopped asking questions about something as weird as a dragon just because somebody told me they were from Mitras.

I wish I could convince her to stay hidden, but she's just a baby. A very smart, very mobile baby who's barely been bonded to me for a day and already proven she's not going to listen to me if she doesn't want to.

In my experience, as long as it is not their problem, most humans do not care about the world around them. Only when it becomes their problem do they start looking and seeing.

As for baby dragons, I know very little about dragons.

I never did understand those kind of people... But I know not everyone is going to be like that. If that's all I'm depending on I could get into trouble.

I don't think Scarlet's the kind of dragon most people would think of anyway. They're just named that because they look a lot like the myths people used to talk about. I think.

In all honesty, I do not either, but they are a thing that humanity is ripe with.

I have never actually seen a real dragon, so I can not comment. The shadows I hunted never did take the form of a dragon. The reaper, ancient titans, piles of goo, yes, but never a dragon.

Maybe that's part of why I used to get called a monster. I never did like to ignore the bullshit other people tried to pull.

[Then she says a word that most definitely gets Eren's attention. He doesn't react as badly as he once would have, but it still puts him on edge.]

When you say ancient Titans, do you mean the kind from Olympus?

I guess that's worth a shot. At least to explain her wings if she doesn't stay disguised or hidden.

At this point I'm not sure how much anyone will care as long as she doesn't attack them. There's a limit to how much weird and frightening anyone can handle at once.

I'm worried she will attack someone if she starts feeling threatened. ...I'm pretty sure poachers got to her mother and siblings. At least I managed to convince her that not all humans are like that. [And accidentally got her to telempathically bond with him in the process.]
