He's going to pat her on the back and kind of awkwardly return that hug. He's not used to hugs and such. "Everything sucks, pretty much." And that's why he's Winter Court.

She doesn't do hugging a lot, but she does it when it's needed, and this seemed like a time that calls for it. ...But she doesn't think that being that negative is conductive to anything.

"That's why you make the best of it and try to get in a kick at the shins of the people who make it suck that much on the way." (And that is why she is Summer Court.) She gives him a pat somewhere on his arm before pulling away. "Or at least get some of the spoils." Robin Hood is nice, but sometimes you need to be practical.

He just sighs, because that answer was indeed so very Summer. "Not all of us are cut out to do that shin-kicking. Some of us just try to keep our heads down and carry on, you know?"

"I'm sure you can some shin-kicking, too. Just maybe less directly." Use your computer skills to control some places automatic gates and bring down a heavy lot of iron gates on someone, Jules. C'mon, it's not that complicated.

[failgoyle]

"I don't like direct, I like quiet." Which is rich, coming from a guy who yells as loudly as he does every time he gets even a little scared. "Easier just to...let someone else take care of the problem."

[runs]

"But other people will fuck up taking care of your problems half the time." She's not at all above letting specialists handle special things. She'd not even dream of trying to deal with Matrix issues or guys with heavy guns storming towards you herself, for example. But if you can take care of it yourself?

"And it's fun to do it yourself." That's half of her motivation for ...really, most of anything. Curiosity and "it sounds fun".

"Fun to do it yourself if you can hide, maybe." Summer. What's he supposed to do with that? "And you can work with the screwups."

[runs]

"Well, yeah." Or at least hide from the fallout. "So you'd rather work with a bigger problem because someone fucked up than the original problem?"

[failgoyle]

"That's not what I said!"

Jules, that is exactly what you said.

"That is exactly what you said," she unwittingly echoes the narrative, not knowing that she's repeating something because she can't pierce the first wall. Maybe it's just intuition. Probably it's just stating the obvious, though.

"No it's not!" Verbal combat is absolutely not Jules's forte, at least not in this sort of situation.
