Welcome back, everyone. Usually there's no dangers in Liminal Space, but this one might be different - has anyone checked to see if we can breathe the water, or if we need to breathe at all? Does anyone else have any ideas about the symbolism?

More importantly, I see some blood on the tiles by the biggest waterslide - is anyone injured?

Not...well, not anything really...all I know is I appeared here. I d-d-don't even know where here is.

Then that's a good place to begin.

You've been drawn here from your homeworld. Right now, you're in Liminal Space, which is a place that exists in between parallel universes somehow, and is used for transportation between them. Things here don't have object permanence or obey basic laws of physics, which is why you see people walking on the walls or changing the landscape around them.

No physics? Or object permanence? How d-d-does that work? So...all the things we take for granted...gravity, conservation of mass, laws of thermodynamics? All those are...gone?

Physics was never my best subject.

I think the theory is that this place as we perceive it exists more in our minds than in what we think of as reality. It isn't actually a place at all.

Somehow...that doesn't help. If this is m-merely a mental manifestation, then anything is p-possible in here. And whose mental manifestation is this? Everyones? Is this collaborative?

Ours, or the beings that brought us here. There's some evidence for each.

Was? How...how long have you been here? You seem to know quite a b-bit about this place. But I'm still wondering...why were we all brought here? And c-can we get out? Has anyone tried?

Actually, all of those questions have pretty complicated answers.

I don't really have anywhere to go. W-well, not that I know of. I've g-got time. And...an explanation would be nice. Let's....let's start with how long you've been here.

I arrived here thirteen months ago, but I've only been here a little over five months in normal time. I spent eight months in a pocket dimension where time passed differently.

P-pocket dimension? So...even this s-space itself isn't p-permanent? I th-think I should just start getting used to the 'everything is an illusion' idea. That will certainly t-t-tick off some scientists.

It's not the strangest thing that happens to us, so I think people mostly don't think about it very much, and just relax while they can.

This is where 'relaxing' happens? I d-don't know if I want to know about the other p-p-pocket dimensions if this is the r-relaxing bit.

Most of the time we're not in pocket dimensions at all, but other worlds.

Other worlds? While I d-don't deny those exist, and it would be ignorant of me to state otherwise, it's....difficult to think about. How do you t-travel between them? From your t-tone, it doesn't sound voluntary.

We're traveling between them right now. When we arrive, we'll simply be pushed out.

A vehicle is one of the things it is, anyway.

I think I'm beginning to understand. At least somewhat. Is there any reason someone is chosen to enter Liminal Space or these...other worlds?

We don't understand why the Trumps make the choices they do.

So...what is boils down to is...we don't know why we're here, how l-long we'll be here, or what we're doing here?

O-oh...how...how much time passes in our worlds compared t-to here? Is...is it 1:1? B-because I have...I have patients. P-people who need me...

We don't know.
