I'll see what we can do about the Forestfolk side too.

...the humans here hunt animals. As you do; not maliciously or anything, just for the reasons you might anywhere else.

But I get the feeling from talking to who I'm pretty sure is Gil's overlay that they don't know the Forestfolk are people instead of... your ordinary everyday animals. He survived one of those snappy toothed traps and has the scars to prove it.

The animals I can understand the confusion. But the Stonefolk hide as well. This is what puzzles me. They seem capable of living alongside humans, yet they do not.
