Hi, it's *Hyun-ae again, sorry if I'm using this too often. I just got kind of used to communicating via text while I was just an AI, you know?

Anyway, the things I've been seeing during this - pseudo-Jaunt? Whatever it is that's going on with all these memories and illusions and stuff - have gotten me really thinking about my future. I've spent the last few hundred years obsessed with my past and trying to recover from it, and it's sort of kept me from thinking enough about where I want to go now that I *am* free from that ship. My dad said I could be anything I wanted to be, so it's about time I started becoming something.

The short version is, I want to help. The last Jaunt kind of blew by while I was still getting my bearings, but even if I had been more involved, I don't really think there would have been anything I could do. I don't really have much in the way of useful skills - I can't fight, I don't really know much about politics or investigating stuff... I missed out on my chance to get a proper education while I was alive, so sometimes it feels like I'm basically dead weight. But then again, just because I don't have any skills doesn't mean I can't learn new ones, right? I've been thinking about psychic powers in particular. Like, a couple months ago I didn't even think that kind of thing was real, but now I can create portals, change my clothes, store objects in pocket space... I'm capable of things I couldn't even imagine, and I'm learning them faster than I possibly could have expected.

So, that's what I want to focus on. I want to learn some more special abilities that I can use to make some kind of more concrete contribution next time there's a real Jaunt. Maybe some more ways to access important information, or protect people... I'm honestly even willing to learn how to fight, although I don't think this frame was really built for it physically. I'm open to ideas, and if you have some kind of skill to teach, I'm willing to learn, and I swear I'll figure out something I can to do make it up to you later.

Thanks for listening! Can you let me know if you have any ideas? I'm at a pretty crazy crossroads in my life right now, so I'm willing to consider just about anything. I'm an AI, so I'm good at processing lots of information really quickly, but that also might mean I'm not any good at magic and stuff, I honestly don't know.

I was wondering about something related to that earlier... people have gotten into some pretty serious fights and danger in past Jaunts, right? What happens to people who get really serious injuries? It's not like we have a hospital we can take someone to for medical treatment. Or in my case, a robotics facility for repairs.

Many of us have learned ways to heal. Spells, jaunt skills... even Liminal, if I recall right. I'm sure some of us would know how to help you, too.

In jaunts it's not our real bodies, even if sometimes we come back with the same injuries.

Not our real bodies? What do you mean by that? Is it just a clone, while the original is still back in Liminal Space somewhere?

Sorry, I meant that as infiltrators, only our mind gets sent over to the world. I'm not too sure about investigators.

Infiltrators being the ones who get incorporated into the Jaunt world, and Investigators being the ones who still remember their actual lives... right, okay.

I guess I could do something, like, give myself a small cut and find someone with healing magic to see if they can fix it. It'd be better to be sure before I need to take any serious risks...

Yeah. Apparently instead of turning into them and replacing them, we're just sharing their body with us not having a say on what happens - unless you learn certain skills.

Geeze, a soldier and an artist and you can use magic? Sometimes I wonder if there's anything you can't do. I'm free right now if you want to mess with healing magic for a bit.

Hi! Jean, right? We've talked before, but I think this is our first time meeting face to face.

[He's getting a hang of pronouncing different kind of names, but he's always unsure how they go at first.]

Yep! That's it. [Or at least, close enough that there's no point in splitting hairs. She's probably pronounced other people's names worse.]

So, do you have, like, a knife or something? That would probably be the easiest way to create an open wound. I would've brought one myself but I don't really have any physical belongings.

[Jean pulls a simple looking military knife from his pocket, handing it for her hilt pointed at her.]

Here. I always carry one with me, just in case.

[*Hyun-ae gingerly takes the knife, trying to get a feel for how sharp it is with the tip of her finger.]

All right, here goes nothing... ow! [It was a little easier than she was expecting to break the skin. There's no blood (why would there be?), but she's left a small, visible cut in her finger.]

Geeze, it's an artificial body, why would they go out of their way to give it realistic pain receptors?

[Jean's too used to seeing Ere bite his own hand to flinch too much. Without blood it's not even that bad.]

My guess is it's to make you understand what pain's like... can't be sure, of course.

Okay, let me try my main way of healing. I'm going to summon something called a Persona...

[Jean focuses and a blue arcana card appears in front of him and he uses another knife that he had to break it. Gabriel appears.]

[Gabriel uses her ability and the healing is fast and very throughout.]

[*Hyun-ae watches with keen interest - Yensid had its own sort of magic, but she hasn't seen much that's this dramatic. Gabriel is... well. Weird-looking, but there's still a sort of awesome spectacle to the invocation.

That turns to a different sort of excitement as the spell kicks in, and the cut closes on its own.]

Oh wow, it worked! That was so cool! [Which in turn means that her biggest worry - suffering permanent damage - is ruled out.]

So with that out of the way, can I ask you to teach me a bit about how to fight? I have basically zero experience, but I really want to learn!

[When the healing progress is done, Gabriel makes a small curtsy before going away again. Jean seems pleased to see that he spell had worked and pockets the knife away again.]

If you have no experience, then I will teach you the basics the way I learned them in the military. They're useful against one person, but it's a good starting point.
