Announcing The First Open Liminal-And-Psychic Salon

Okay, so. For a variety of reasons, including that me and Matthew have some rad new theories about the way that liminal space and the network actually work--as well the theoretical basis for a bitchin new skill category--I would like to invite everyone to a Salon. A Psychic-And-Liminal Salon.

But when I say Salon, I don't mind the kind you go to in order to get your hair done. I mean it in the old-fashioned sense, as a sort of intellectual party where everyone meets up to have snacks and swap theories and demonstrate cool shit they've found. It's something I've actually tried doing before in small groups? And both times went pretty well, so I think after the alpha and beta test Salons, I'm totally ready to make this an open thing.

Anyway, I'd host it in a created room and, like, make sure there's plenty of food and everyone could come over and swap ideas and new tricks--and any interesting information that people might have found out from these weird visions we've been getting these last couple liminal spaces.

I think what Yosuke said a few days ago, how since we've had past and sort-of-present visions in this liminal space that we're probably due for some future ones soon, is probably right. And because of that--and also because some of those past visions might have shown us pre-Moebius shit--I think it's definitely a good idea if people talk about things they've learned from them at the Salon.

Because of that, I don't want to hold it until at least after liminal space turns? Because then we could get some future visions in, like I said. But on the other hand, I'm not entirely sure if they'll dump us right into a Jaunt after we get to the Liminal Space Yet To Come, so I dunno if we can wait it out for the Salon? On the other hand, we do usually get a warning liminal before Jaunts where they hint at shit and give the noobs some time to flail around, so it might be better to bet on that happening and do the Salon then?

What do you guys think? Do it in the theoretical next liminal or bet we'll have a hint-filled one full of newbies after that and hold it then?

So hey, I was wondering: can I add one more person to our secret meetings? I've been talking with Souji and he's def interested in doing the same stuff we're doing i.e. playing against the Arcana by hacking liminal space instead of just picking a team.

We disagree philosophically on a few things, but he's a clever man with cleverer associates, and experience dealing with godlike beings and actually winning. I'm all for it.

If anything, that experience means he knows when it's both necessary and wise to make a move. Could be helpful.

I think that holding it at some point later in the next liminal shift may be best? If only because we do also have the ball and whatever other festivities people are hosting individually to contend with as well as whatever new people arrive in the one after it if there is one.

Well, the one for Liminal Space Past was roughly ten days, as much as one can tell time around here. If this one stretches for about the same amount of time, we'll have a good idea of how many days into Liminal Space Yet To Come we'll want to hold it.

My watch is fairly useless for anything shorter than about eighty eight days.

I think if we're going to use clocks, we should probably only have them in permanent rooms.

Yep. It's pretty rad, but mostly just theoretical right now because we don't have the right abilities to test it out.

Well, if you do get the whole of Liminal there, I'm sure you can find someone who does.

Hm... given how some of these visions have gone, I would not be opposed to waiting until after we deal with the rest of this... Charles Dickens madness. Or at least until a good portion into it, so that people can finish with their screaming or crying or whatever they're going to do when they see these things.

I don't know how many new people will be interested in something like this, and if they are, they might simply flood us with basic questions.

Huh. Good point. I'm not opposed to the newbies coming, but it could really slow down discussion if we have to pause for explanations a lot.

Of course, there may be a few clever ones among them, but if you are planning on making this a regular thing they can always catch up.

Well, I'm always interested in learning new things about the network... even if I can't really imagine myself drinking tea and while aristocratically discussing theories, but I doubt that's what you guys are doing.

As for the timing, my opinion is that it might be better to hold it after newbies have arrived should they appear again. That way, it would be useful for them to learn the basics of Liminal and Network.

But that being said, I'm fine with any timing.
