Hello. I... this is Imriel. I've agreed to help provide music at the Liminal Ball.

...I'll probably need help. I play guitar - if anyone wants to join me in making music, let me know and we can find a time to meet up and practice together. And if anyone has songs they're going to want to hear, let me know and I'll try to learn them.

[He feels like he should say something more, but after a long, uncertain moment decides against it. The entire post is a little stilted, with how unused to using the network Imriel is. He's not even used to hearing it - he generally mutes the entire thing, unless someone addresses him directly, and he's never made a post before. Still, he's trying.]

I pretty much only know how to sing, which I'm sure a lot of people will volunteer for. [even though he's clearly the best.] It's a really good idea. You'll do great.

...I've never written music as myself before. And I've never written lyrics at all before.

But I wouldn't mind learning more modern songs. Are there any people usually play around the Longest Night? Or... Christmas, right? [He thinks that's what Maria called it.]

...If you don't mind coming to Beatrice's place? [Where he's been living recently, after Maria invited him. That way Imriel doesn't have to deal with so many people on the way to Phillip's...] There's more room here.

[Oh good he's living with Beatrice, she is a responsible person. Or... mostly responsible. She's cool, anyway.] Sure, I'll head over.

[Imriel moves to open the front door when he hears someone there, smiling at Phillip as he invites him in.] Hey.

Come on in. [And he'll lead Phillip back to his room - or what could almost be called he and Maria's room. Technically separate rooms, but connected with a sliding door they almost never close.]

I'm already helping out with the food, but I could hop on the drums, if you need a drummer.

I'm not really sure what I'll need - I don't know what kind of music I'll be playing yet. But drums would be a pretty good bet, for a solid rhythm section.

I play the keytar. I have not performed, however. It may not be... seemly, for a robot to do so.

You're a robot?? [Clearly the most important part of that sentence.] ...Why would it not be seemly for you to play?

And what's a keytar?

A keytar is an synthesizer keyboard worn around the neck like a guitar.

And I am used to the thought that robots are not capable of true art, and as music is an artform, it is not something I ought to attempt. I brought the skill back from a jaunt, but I have not used it in public since.

[You can't see it, but Imriel looks very baffled right now.] ...That's stupid. If you can play and you want to play, then do it. You shouldn't care what someone else thinks you ought to do. And you seem just like a normal person to me.

[Phillip looks around, smiling.] You've got a roommate, huh? That's nice.

Well, I should be able to round that out, even if I've only really played rock music.

Fer the most 'f us it's Christmas, yeah. We got a whole heap a' songs fer it, I reckon some 'f em go back a couple hundred years. Ain't too hard pickin' any 'f 'em up, neither, they're all right catchy.

Well, I'm around a thousand years behind most people here, I think, so I doubt I know any of them. But I don't think I should have much trouble picking them up. I... have a pretty good head for music.

Maria invited me to come stay with her. [Because she witnessed one of his horrific nightmares he'd been hiding by soundproofing his room, but he's not saying that part, even to Phillip. He looks away, trying to act nonchalant.] I... It's better than living alone.
