So I've been keepin' an eye on the cabochon space we done discovered earlier, an' I noticed it's changin' up a little.

[There's a brief memory supplied then, of said changes: the sensation of another person in the room gets ignored completely in favour of the ring of windchimes in the air, that seems to get sharper when Kinji's attention turns to the lightning - but, oddly, they almost sound more like harpstrings; and there's a sense of motion underfoot that his fellow subspace divers will recognise as being a right bit faster than before.]

An' I'm wonderin' now if we can't do somethin' t'disrupt it. Cos whatever this is, Altaïr's readin' it as an enemy, it's where the Glatisant done spawned from, an' when some a' that lightnin' got loose it tore a hole in the world an' started spawnin' Nightmares. It ain't good.

[Bayek has an idea of why Altair might call it an enemy and thinks it interesting that he doesn't get the same result.]

Enemy or not, it is certainly important to the completion of our goals in some way. Or at least mine. Of course, important could also mean it must be destroyed for the goals to succeed.

[He's still getting used to his new form of Eagle Vision, but he's pretty sure it's the same feeling as he's had before with both people to protect, important documents or items and people to kill. That feeling is always situationally dependant.]

What I have learned with the Oracle magics I was given is that the cabochon is harming the spars beneath it and they need to be healed. I have not yet discovered how they might be healed, other than the obvious idea of moving or removing the source of the harm, but it seems that Oracles are for gathering knowledge and not acting on it with these magics. Are there any... Champions among us that are also tied to healing?

I'm no Champion, but I have a healing skill. If it's organic at all, I might be able to do something.

I will. Unfortunately I can only portal objects, not myself.

I should be able to open a portal directly there from Liminal space, although if I use a portal to get there myself it will take some time. Where are you now?

I'm near the beginning island.

I will meet you in Liminal if you can get there. Otherwise, we may both need to take a detour there; someone has offered me a way to heal it.

[If it works, it will be so useful, so Bayek hopes it works.]

I'm not a Champion, but I have a healing skill as well. I have never tried it on anything not a person, but I don't actually know the extent of it, so it might work. It's, er, technically a blessing from a deity.

I am not sure how to get down there, though.

[A pause.] But that matters less than that it is a god's power. Even indirect, that power is something respectable and precious. If you are willing to try, I would be grateful.

One from a Jaunt, so not one you would be familiar with. He was a centaur granted godhood in a deity upheaval in ancient Greece. He's a good sort, though.

I am certainly willing to try, if someone can get me down there. I can fly down to the lake, but I'm afraid my swimming is not very good, and I'm not sure I can portal through it.

I have heard of Apollo. Some Greeks in Egypt worship him. [A pause.] I did not know a god could give their godhood away at will.

He kept his immortality and a portion of his power, so that he could rescue his sister from the Underworld, but transferred his Mantle to Galen to prevent the further destruction of the world.

That is noble of him. If I should encounter one of his shrines or temples, I will make an offering.

And Galen would be the centaur the other man mentioned?

Ah, I see. I am somewhat familiar with the gods of the Greeks.

[Bayek pauses] I can Teleport down from the water but I am not certain I can bring someone with me. I can also portal directly there from Liminal, but I am not there right now so there may be a wait if I go there with my own power.

I'll give it a try myself, I suppose. I might be able to manage it, if it isn't too far.

It is not very far from the bottom of the lake, I think. And the lake is not deep enough to fear drowning from being under too long.

[But this is also a guy who free dives for fun and sunken treasure.]

I'm not tied to healing so much as I have a healing power in my Champion skillset. And I can do some healing with goo. I'm not sure if I can do more than one at a time, though.

Any healing power is worth trying, I think. I wish I had such a power myself, but I can only gather knowledge.

[Not... that the knowledge isn't incredibly useful, but Bayek doesn't like not being able to help directly.]

Well, I mean, I could eventually teach you how to heal with goo. That's a liminal space power, not a Questing Country one.

If it can be taught, I would like to learn it. Many of my regrets come from not having any of a healer's skill.

I can def teach it, although you have to learn a lot of other Liminal skills first.

What skills? I have learned some already, but not very many.

[Dryly] I took issue with the go--Arcana bringing me here and had to be rescued from a dungeon.

The stone surrounding the sinkhole heals on its own, at least, though slowly.

That stone up above did not show itself to my… senses? It is not quite sight, but I am at a loss of what to call it— like the spars below did. With the knowledge you have given, I fear that means the cabochon damages them too quickly for their natural healing to keep up.
