I don't disagree. For every student, there's a different way of learning that best suits them. Kinji's done well to have come as far as he has, and to have taught himself as much as he did; but his situation and motivations were unique. I don't believe that the same methods would produce the same results for others as they did him. A more structured approach and a more solid foundation would produce better results for most students.

No. The training will speak for itself.

[auditions, quizzes, interviews... are all things that can make a person feel obliged to finish out whatever they were presenting themselves for. Yakumo, the most unwilling of his cousins to have become a ninja, will not be putting anyone into that position. That's what he's decided in this moment.]

Indeed, they do. There are many a time where stealth has been the difference between success and failure. Being able to hide at a moment's notice or quietly take out an opponent without alerting others is incredibly useful, regardless of the technology around you.

Naw, we both know Igasaki-style shuriken ninpou. Main difference 'tween us is that Yakki was done born into ninja, he's got a birth advantage on me. I ain't got a lick 'f anythin' even close t'that in my veins.

I'm self-taught too, only started a few years 'fore I got pulled in here; but Yakumo got taught straight by his uncle an' grandfather fer a right few years longer than I got.
