Those who are ninja do not give in to fears or worries. A ninja protects that which is dear to them, and never takes lightly the duties they're given. There are... other guidelines [sometimes], but most ninja are inclined to disregard them.

[Yakumo. Yakumo is inclined to disregard them. He is a troublemaking rulebreaker when the rules do not suit him.]

Above all else, where we're from ninja protect the world from the youkai who would destroy it. So long as we're accomplishing that much, there aren't many who would try to impose additional restrictions upon us.

A properly skilled ninja is capable of many things. From combat to subtle social interactions, a ninja uses all means at their disposal to gain and keep the upper hand. They can be considered to be spies, assassins, thieves, or protectors; a ninja's duties encompasses them all.
