So, uh. Having poked my head out the door just now...

Doveresque cliff faces shouldn't mean we're heading back to Newport, right? Please tell me we're not heading back to Newport. I don't think any of us want to try to clean up that mess again.

[Also that would be the worst birthday present ever.]

Ahaha, would you believe me if I said I could? Unfortunately, predicting the future with definitive accuracy is not among my many magical talents. Indeed, it runs sort of counter to my whole idiom of Endless possibility.

I am, however, an excellent poker player, and the Arcana have tells.

Being able to see the future doesn't seem to help with the Arcana anyway. I've never even gotten a cryptic glimpse.

Uncle Luke never mentioned getting anything either, and he's better than I am at seeing more than a couple seconds ahead.

There are other Travelers who receive mental omens of some sort, but as far as I can tell those don't happen until the Jaunt actually starts. I would guess we need to be "connected" to the world for them to be active. Actually seeing ahead in the Arcana's meta-game seems impossible.

So they take turns throwing us into worlds of their choosing for their own self amusement? Cause that's what I'm getting with this.

Oh, yes, that's the basic premise. They do have a reason besides "amusement", which is a step above a few people I've met, but it's a bit esoteric for people who aren't used to this sort of thing.
