nobody wants the midgecams to change their minds

Okay. Okay, fuck. I've had some weird conversations and I'm pretty sure they're ones I need to fill you guys in on, because... well, I'm spooked.

So the first thing happened with Daneel or rather not-Daneel, because he's Infiltrating and he doesn't have a name yet. And he's a Seer, right? He's got the knowledge of making water wheels in his noggin. But he's got other stuff in his head too. Like a drawing of God's Isle and these symbols he doesn't understand--he drew them for me and they looked a whole fucking lot like letters, numbers, and typographical symbols--and, like, being in sticky water and someone telling him to remember.

That would be freaky enough, but then the shit with not-Jackie happened.

So you know the strange creature, the actual mythical human? He says he remembers me--that is, me-as-Thorn-the-weaver--and he called me 'Char' and said I already had a kid? He's a little confused--sunstroke will do that to you--but I don't think he's lying. I think he's involved with this. Somehow.

So, like, I dunno but I think maybe it would be a really good idea to, like, pool information about people who might be... fuck, I don't know? Significant to something being rotten in the state of Home? Because it's not like we can round up every single person and march them to the latrines to be interrogated--it'll take too long and there's always a chance that the midgecams will change their mind about not wanting to see us shit--but if we can at least narrow it down to a couple people, maybe we can focus our detective work. Or something.

If they can create people then we could be looking at anything, hidden ships or other transport. Teleportation. Maybe they do not leave the Isle, mayhaps the place is hidden within the Isle itself.

I half want to say they'd keep as little that needs personnel down here as possible - sooner or later someone on the mainland would have noticed. We do need to try to find out what's out there, though, whether it's a mass grave or something worse or just machinery of some kind.

Aye, although I am unsure at this point which would be worse. So either we find our own way to the Isle, hoping that these 'gods' do not interfere, or we have to wait until they take to old and infirm back.

[This was all leaving a very sour note in her mouth.]

If we wait that long, we'll be leaving too. We don't have time to wait.

I see. Sooner rather than later then
..

How far is the God's Isle from here?

It's past the mouth of the bay, but you can swim or fly to it if you're in good enough shape. If I had to guess I'd say no more than a couple kilometers from the shore.

Ordinarily it's safest to go by boat. If you don't want to be followed by the cameras, portal or teleport over.

I wonder if the midges are able to go underwater. If I can get into the water then I could swim that without needed to breech the surface until I made it to the Isle, it may be a slight bit more stealthy than flying.

I could portal some over but we would the be stuck there which I doubt is a good idea.

Not if you get someone to wait in Liminal and bring you back.
