claudiometer: arms crossed, wearing sunglasses (future's so bright I gotta wear shades)

psychic bridge 1 again (humans --> Beastfolk)

Another update from on high.

Orwell's convinced there's some kind of corporate sabotage going on, so that's fun. Trying to figure out how much I can do without putting my overlay on the line.

They're also asking if any of us want to go down there in person and scare you guys into behaving, which has about a snowball's chance in hell of working, but I for one look forward to this blowing up in their faces. That said, if the island isn't yours yet you might wanna fucking make it yours before the week's out. If anyone's down there who can declarify the shit out of it, that'd probably work nicely.

Maybe, but why hide something somewhere that's easy to get to?

I wouldn't call a trek through a possibly-radioactive desert to the wreckage of a place that may not still have a functioning spaceport 'easy to get to.'

Also, hubris. They're counting on no one actually paying attention to what they're doing, so why not use the most convenient location?

You know, Jitter/Jaina is going to try to explore the desert now that I've got a survival suit ready for her... we could always have some people tag along to find Karachi...

That's not a bad idea, really.

I mean, even if it doesn't have a functioning spaceport it still seems a lot easier with spaceships at their disposal. And space suits.

And because it's dumb? Being cocky never works! But I guess hoping that the bad guy is a dumbass isn't a bad thing.

They're secure enough in their power to get lazy. Claudia-san said the other day they don't even bother to make bombs because they're sure they can take care of problems with smaller-scale weapons, never mind that those are easier to remove as a threat.

If their cockiness works to our advantage, I'm not about to tell them to get smarter.

Yeah, I know! I guess I'm just used to fighting mostly competent bad guys. Which is... shitty, let me tell you. I'll take storybook dumbdumb villainy any day of the week!
