Does anyone remember the Hellstones? As more than just a story.

The rebels planned to steal one, using the Investigators' ability to portal. The Investigators withdrew, it became a bloodbath. The Hellstone was never recovered.

Either it's out there unaccounted for, or one of us took it.

I know there was supposed to be a "secret mission," but I'm not sure how many of us knew that mission involved stealing a Hellstone until it was happening. I think a bunch of people had already withdrawn by then, but that and the assassination of Malion turning into an outright sacking of Moonfall was the last straw that took the rest of us out of the Jaunt.

As far as the whereabouts of the thing go, though, I don't know.

If it was left here... Many weapons become unstable if not maintained. Maybe that's what woke the Nation Eaters.

Disable or destroy it if we can, remove it if we can't.

Ideally. If we could piece together where that massacre took place, it would give us a starting point.

... shit. If one of us took it, it's somebody who ain't around anymore. I wasn't in on that part, I was just supposed to help kill the king guy.

I can probably do some work to piece the scene together in my head, see if we can see anybody outa place or slippin' off on their own. You know, the way I was rebuildin' memories.

Kinda makes me wonder, though. The Trumps-- [Look he's an asshole and refuses to use their preferred term for themselves, out of blatant disrespect.] --been collecting things of power from a lot of these Jaunts. Think maybe one of them picked it up if the Traveler disappeared?

Malion. We - the Infiltrators and the natives with the rebellion - thought the Portori all fell in that battle.

...And I'm not certain whether the Trumps having it is a more unnerving possibility than someone sitting on it in a dungeon somewhere or not. Either option might be better for this world than it sitting around in some sealed hall, decaying into the Ancients alone know what.

Let me see what I can come up with. I remember most of the Jaunt now, just I wasn't lookin' for that at the time. Might be a clue in my head somewhere.
