We seem to be caught in some sort of siege. As we don't know how long we will be here, I would highly recommend taking inventory of what food, water, and other supplies we may have. From there, we may be able to formulate a plan.

I would rather do that than sit about, there may be an oasis or something nearby as well.

I would lay a few traps in that case, see what can be caught for food.
