Check-In [Week 1]
All right, you know the deal. If you're yourself, psychically raise your hand.
Or, uh, if that doesn't make sense to you, just... let people know you're you. I'm myself, obviously, but I have no idea what the hell my archetype or role is. I was infiltrating last time as Ace -
- shit, I need to avoid him. Anyway! Yeah. Uh. ... Yeah...
[His psychic voice just trails off as the awkward overtakes him.]

Tried to do some perspective-reading a little while ago. Our new Conductor friends have a few points of interest. One, they literally do not experience fear, sadness, or doubt. They are still individuals, but it's like they're all a bunch of melodies that used to play in all different keys that now play in E Major. Which, incidentally, is the only reason I know what E Major sounds like now. Switching my senses around to check out their gear mostly just confirmed that they're all in the same key.
Spirit Companion perspectives are always kind of malleabla and fluctuate a lot, and they tend to be interconnected. That's still true, but they're shocked by the Tesserae for some reason. Incidentally, those Tesserae read like Conductors, not Spirit Companions.
Also, with regard to our friend Grant, his perspective is notable in that he has almost no trust but a huge amount of hope. Make of that what you will.

[And she sounds delighted by the fact, even if she continues a bit more soberly.]
I'm not sure I'm a big fan of everyone singing along to the same exact tune, though. There's harmony and there's an echo chamber, and I've seen what the second one's like on too large a scale.

Yeah, I've gotta say I've got some concerns about that too.

Are we sure they aren't Eldritch? Leah's group reminds me way too much of cultists of one of the nasties who's locked eyes on my world. This had better not be The Self-Fulfilling Story.

I'd like to think even the Arcana wouldn't be dumb enough to send us to fight more eldritch without warning, especially given the way Liminal Space reacts with Questing Country. I mean, last time they sent us to a place where there was a possibility of eldritch takeover, they went so far as to put Liminal Space in Safe Mode.
[Fuck, she's going to have to find a way to go ask Judgement, isn't she?]

Sorry, this is just poking at one of my happy misadventures - and those bidents having cthonic magic, as in underworld not as in the Green Guy - threw my theory out the window anyway. I'll deal.
(Private, Protected)
You also stopped me because of magic bullshit, didn't you?
private; protection ii
And got it in one. A place that runs on dream logic and isn't above throwing people's personal nightmares at them is not one we need any of those assholes showing up in.
permaprivate/protected
I'll add my edits and contain my squicks. And this probably is a small sample size thing. Leah threw around 108 as a rough estimate of number of Conductors - and that's PROBABLY a meme rather than totally accurate; it's a Buddhist thing if you didn't know - and I've met 6. We super need more data yesterday.
I kind of wish I could Oracle about this, but I guess I'm too much of Best Pony's kid to avoid being a Champion. But I'll keep you posted.
Re: permaprivate/protected
But she's also going to cut Madoka some slack on that, because she's clearly rattled.]
Yeah, we definitely need more data. We're probably going to need someone to bite the bullet and join them, if we can't get them to talk to us.
[And she's not any more thrilled about that than Madoka, and it's very evident in her mental 'voice.']
permaprivate/protected
So I did.
The funny thing is that this was absolutely a recruitment drive spiel, but she also took one look at me through her Cool Kids Club Decoder Ring or whatever and said "Nope, you'd hate being a Conductor." Credit to her magic, wouldn't you know it, she's right. So I have to wonder what her criteria are, and why she's being so cautious when we can infer that other Conductors aren't.
Again, keeping in mind her Band may not be a representative sample size.

They weren't as good at it, a lot less transparent, and a lot more pushy. Like, I can tell you all this shit about Leah's Band in particular, including the fact that they call hunting parties Bands, because her first sentence to me ended with "AMA." Ask Me Anything.

You're probably the last person here who needs to hear this, and the fact that it's coming from a member of Team Chariot is ironic as hell, but: that said, Don't do anything stupid.

Rrrgh, there's something else about her Adventuring Party of Six that bothers me, something about the clothing. But I can't put my finger on it.

I keep wondering why the jewelry.
no subject
It's the only bit of Conductor clothing I've seen that doesn't fit! Literally every other Conductor I've seen had it tailored to their dream bodies, but Ace's Crown is too big for her!
It has to mean something, we're in Dream Symbol Land!

Might also be a good thing to mention to the group at large, or at least people who aren't likely to go off half-cocked at her.
no subject
...hey, remember Bern spitballing that this might be Those Wacky Hecatites? Named after minerals?
If that's a mere coincidence it's not a funny one.
