So, question. Does anyone have a thing that charges things up? I need to figure out if I've made a functional lightcycle or if it's just a pretty but useless baton.

It was that or find a salad to laugh into. [That part's quieter; she probably didn't mean to broadcast it. Either way, Claudia would like some help with a thing pls.]

If it's working, I'll start taking requests. Only a couple at a time, though, I need to make sure I have time to... you know. Eat and sleep.

...That probably means about as much to you as 'Firefly class' does to me, doesn't it.

That's why I added the bit about it bein' a spaceship onto the end. Nobody here knows what a Firefly is.

Short version, we retrieve dangerous objects. Longer version, most of 'em would be right at home with the kinds of stuff people bring back from jaunts, except about 90 percent of the time there's a chance using or being affected by one will kill you. Hence the retrieving.

Sounds like an interestin' sort of job. Dangerous, but interestin'. So you have magic and things like that in your 'verse?

Not exactly magic. My brother's pretty sure it can be explained through scientific means, if he can just figure out what laws it is Artifacts obey since half the time it sure ain't physics. If anyone can crack it, it's him.

Could be that magic's got its own rules, too. Nothin' to say it don't. But science can explain a psychic, so maybe it can explain magic, too.

Some of it's just technology the world at large isn't ready for. That's where the Teslas come in. The rest... all I know for sure is strong emotions can set them off. Sometimes you have to be a specific kind of person and/or do a specific thing. Some of them just sit there and exude menace.

Named for their inventor. They're basically lightning guns - if that last place had been more electricity-proficient, they probably would've been everywhere, or at least something like them.

Glad they didn't. There were enough things set on fire or exploded without addin' electrocuted. Think I'll stick with my rifle, sounds safer.

Short of a full blast at very close range, or maybe if someone has a pacemaker, they're not lethal. Worst it'll do is knock you out for a minute or so - Helena and I have both walked away from it.

Can't blame you for not being in a hurry to test it out though, especially with your possible news you mentioned. That is... one aspect of Teslas I don't know about, and I'm not really up for testing it myself, so.
